What have you landed!!

Copied one Von Braun's proposed missions to Duna (Mars) back in v0.24.

And just today I did a dual launch to Minmus, landing both landers at a previously landed science lab rover. Then trucked all over to complete a survey contract and returned the boys home. Netted about 2500 science and leveled 3 kerbals. The 4th was Bob, he was already leveled.

Way back in the day I landed this on Ike.

Javascript is disabled. View full album

And returned it back to Kerbin and landed at the KSC.

Then there was this probe I landed using RT2 with signal delay on Eve... there was a 7min delay in the signal.. so I had to preprogram EVERYTHING. Was a nightmare I will never repeat.

There was this on Moho.

Those are just the ones I have pictures of still. I have landed on the Mun and Minimus. But those became so routine I quit taking pictures of those.

I wish i had a video of this, but I managed to land my Kethane drilling rig on Duna. Big whoop, you say? Well, there were some problems with the landing:

1. It was built around an orange-tank with those huge rovemax wheels on it.

2. One parachute at the end because "Dunas gravity is so low that this should be enough, right"

3. realized during reentry i realized how flawed this was

4. the transfer stage was still attached, but not powerful enough to stop it

However, i noticed that i was very close to a long and steep slope. The transfer stage (I can't remember which engines i used) allowed me to steer towards it, while my chute added stability. I ended up actually using the slope as a ramp to arrest most of my speed, as i landed on it in reverse, engine blasting on full. It only took two quickloads to get it right (I had a save from just before chutes opened)

I ofcourse broke the wheels during landing, which needed repairs from one of the green men statione not far from the landing site, but other than that the drilling rig was still intact.

This thing, also known as the Duna Crawler 2 Scarab:

It was tricky due to its size and the fact I was using Mk3 parts, which (on this, anyway) would fall apart if I landed it at anything faster than ~7.5m/s or so.

My proudest landings have been these two identical surface outposts--one on Duna, one on Laythe. Each also includes a sporty rover that docks to the underside (using lander legs to lift it up to the docking clamp). I landed them with dozens of parachutes on detachable cylinders which I then jettisoned.

Well, tons of things :P But some highlights:

A boat on Laythe. Twice, because I wrecked the first one in a hard turn when sailing.

A rock on Eve. The main tug left this after a Kerbin assist, leaving only the little RCS gubbins you see to handle needed course corrections.

A Kerbal on the Mun, with three tech nodes and no VAB or Pad upgrade.

These Kethane tanker planes on the runway. Landing the big ones fully loaded required a lot of F9ing.

And my one and only Tylo lander so far. That I post whenever I get the chance, because if it's worth doing it's worth overdoing.

The very first probe I sent to Duna had an incredibly over-engineered transfer stage. I ended up landing that stage on Ike (becoming one of only three things I've ever landed on Ike). No pictures of that, but I had a similar situation at Dres last year when I sent a probe to every planet/moon. The transfer stage for the lander had more than enough ∆v to make landfall, and became the first object I ever landed on Dres:

I only remember those because they were the "firsts".... Pioneer Base has to be the most complex thing I've ever landed (in pieces) and assembled in place:

Huh... I have landed quite a bit of equipment during my time with KSP ;)

One of my best ones was this:

I also have landed a statue on Eeloo:

Also getting this 50 ton rover crane to the Mun and Duna was a fun experience (Mun run starts at 11:00):

And I am always proud of landing shuttles back at KSC. Because I usually over- or undershoot...
