"Honeycomb's big. Yeah, yeah, yeah."

"It's not small?!"

"No, no, no."

Two more rings and the transfer system is complete. Then I get to figure out how to launch it.

My god, that whole thing is asparagus staged. Imagine how far you could go if you flew that like a sane person instead of flying straight there...

That's minus two rings. So here it is with the two rings.

#EDIT: They don't have thrust to launch, but I launched anyway. I guess I wanted to see if I had the staging right. Well, the Kraken took immediate umbrage:

Ah, that Kraken. It's like a long forgotten neighbor coming to say hello. Driving up in a LoX car powered by matches.

Threw on different engines, just for the sake of launching it anyway.

She sure be 'purdy!

#AnotherEDIT: Ok, scrapping this design completely. Even though the parts aren't real large, all that mass going on makes the thing quickly shred itself to pieces. Gonna redo it. And redo it RIGHT.

I can plainly see areas where the space tape failed to connect... though I doubt that is why you're having problems (far more likely due to mass distribution).

Suddenly I wonder.... if you were patient enough to rig a system up and asparagus them, would going as small as separatrons be beneficial for the insane twr

I don't think you can run fuel lines between seperatrons.

Err, it was a strange thought I had.... I think I see it again though.

Separatrons have 8/8 fuel right? BUT Separatron with 1/8 fuel has a much higher TWR than a separatron with 8/8 fuel.

If you were to asparagus them, you would have all the fuel from the outside layer be transferred to the inside layer... but you could also just lower the fuel in the outside layer (idk, burn it off?) to increase the outside layer's TWR which increases the TWR of the system as a whole.

Basically, asparagus without pumps. Instead of pumping fuel inwards, you just have smaller and smaller tanks outwards.
