How many parts?

Edit- With a "good" frame rate / physics time.

Hmm. One of my ships had 2300 parts and I didn´t have any lags.

Guess 500+ is the right option for me.

EDIT: 2300 is not possible ingame. I guess I read the number wrong. Thanks to Majorjim and Daze for pointing that out.

I think the question should be a little more specific.

My laptop starts seriously slowing down at 250+ parts (1 second in-game takes >7 seconds IRL), but I personally have no problems launching 1000+ part lifters and using the massive amounts of free time to read a book or something. My vessels usually don't exceed 200 parts, so I'm going to assume that's what OP meant.

Lol, not possible with the current game code. On ANY CPU.
Exactly...

Maybe you overstimated the parts of that particular craft

I guess your right. I really thought I would have read 2300. But it´s some time ago, I think it was a memory leak:D. But it surely were many parts.

I edited my post.

I can tolerate 1000 parts without any lower fps, but I set my max fps to 10.

I can tolerate 2 seconds per frame.

My largest ship is 3000 parts, mainly struts.

If 2300 won´t work, how can 3000 work then?
