A couple suggestions and polite requests.

Hello KSP community,

The other day I downloaded BD Armoury and Magic Smoke Industries Infernal Robotics and set out to build a tank. After successfully building a turret, chassis, and armoured hull, I set about configuring my control groups. It then occurred to me that it would be a heck of a lot easier (at least for the user) if BDA used IR's rotating parts to turn the turret instead of assigning clunky keybindings. I don't know if this is possible, but if somebody managed to do something like this (say, add a turret ring that turns to follow the mouse) I know of at least two people that would be very very grateful.

Another thing that bothered me during the construction of my tank was the lack of small pieces of armour (I am limited to M-beam 650's, M-beam 200's, and the two different types of panels). Due to the lack of part diversity my designs are quite a bit larger than intended and have very simple shapes (I'm going for a T-90 look, but can't make the turret correctly). If someone could throw together a bunch of small (1/4 the size of the existing M-1x1 Panel) squares and rectangles and triangles that would be awesome too.

Some suggested shapes (assume the M-1x1 is 1 unit by 1 unit): A 0.5x1 rectangle, a 0.5x0.5 square, a 1x1 triangle, a 1x0.5 triangle, and a 0.5x0.5 triangle.

I also had some (tank themed) suggestions for BDA:

Weapons:

.50 cal M2 remote gun system

.50 cal or 7.62mm coaxial MG

An ATGM style missile launcher

More 'Radial' cannons (Eg: 155mm smoothbore cannon, Royal Ordnance L7, the list goes on..)

Lighter 'Radial' mounted weapons, like the M242 Bushmaster

Defences:

Smoke Grenade Launchers

A Trophy System (basically a really tiny CIWS with short range, capable of shooting down missiles)

Eye Candy/Utility:

Cameras to be used alongside the main gun of a tank, as well as a camera for the commander

Ammunition boxes for all ammunitions

Fake ERA panels

I could go on and on.. but I won't. I think you get the idea. If someone makes this happen that would be amazing. Thanks in advance!

Have you looked "Parts by other members" section of BDA page? There is a lot of additional parts.

Direct any questions about these to the respective authors, not me

- Spanner's Boomsticks

- The Space Man's JDAM and cannon shell ammo box

- BigNose's cannon shell ammo box

- Acea's KAS ModuleManager config

- Acea's Hydra-70 resupply box

- VentZer0's JDAMs, Mk84s and AIM-54

- Damaske's resized bombs/artillery/missiles

To create a tank hull/chassis you could try Mobile Frame System

This mod is originally designed for resource mining, but just look at its parts from POV of armored vehicle.

All parts are tweakable, use a right-click menu to change their shapes.

I found a combination of BDArmory + Mobile Frame Set (hull/structure) + Kerbal Foundries (tracks) to be amazing for "tankish" rovers and even for ships.

Kerbal Foundries

Gun shells in BDArmory are resources defined in BDArmory/Resources/Ammo.cfg

Probably if you want one more shell type (e.g. 7.62) you would define an additional Ammo resource and clone some part, setting in its cfg your new ammo resource instead of the original one.
