-0.1 for every ton on launchpad (or runway) = -262

+125 if you started as one piece on launchpad (or runway) = +125

+100 for absolutely no debris left anywhere

+75 For playing with Magic Boulder

+50 for bringing science lab (Mobile Processing Lab or something bigger from mod) with you and back to Kerbin

+40 For vertical takeoff from or landing on Kerbin = +40

+25 for no jets on Laythe

+20 per every Kerbal which landed on at least one moon = +20

-300 if you needed refueling mission

+5 for every ton left on moon's surface over 3 tons on surface, max 20 tons (Multipliers: x0.1 - Gilly, Minmus; x0.25 - Mun; x0.5 - Ike, Pol, Bop; x1 - Vall; x2 - Tylo and Laythe) (What?)

These applies only if they are over challenge level's requirements (if you finish Level 2 attempt and you landed on Laythe you will get Laythe bonus)

Landing bonuses:

+150 Moho

+150 Eve (remember you have to take off)

+50 Duna

+80 Dres

+200 if you landed on Joolian moon and your attempt is still level 1

+20 Bop or Pol (max 40 pts) =

+50 Vall =

+150 Laythe

+200 Tylo

+150 Eeloo

Total = -262+125+40+20 = -77

Shouldn't there be a bonus for doing level 2? :P

TLDR: 27 Kerbals landed on all moons for Level 1. Ran out of fuel after Munar insertion before return to Kerbin. Killed Kerbals when landing at Kerbin.

Alright, so I did this. But have to disqualify myself on account of my error in landing at Kerbin, whereupon pilot error and a water landing meant it went boom, and I forgot to EVA on Gilly. For me, this challenge was more to see how well my craft would cope with it. The lander was not designed for this. The lander is a modification of a base I built to put on Duna, and then I wondered how it would cope as a lander elsewhere... I did not testing of the craft, so have learnt that I goofed on forgetting to adjust the landing legs, they're kind of superfluous. I made some small errors and lost dV by accidentally lighting the aerospikes when I was braking at Gilly, some dV losses through crappy piloting and some dV losses from KSP encounters disappearing. I think, that a better Commander than I would be able to complete the mini challenge using this lander without a refuel.

I don't have the patience to redo this as I'm now sick of this pig of a spacecraft!

Point scoring:

-0.1 for every ton on launchpad (or runway) x 1,728.5 t [VAB] = -172.85

+125 if you started as one piece on launchpad (or runway)

(+100 for absolutely no debris left anywhere (To include LKO launcher?))

+50 for bringing science lab (Mobile Processing Lab or something bigger from mod) with you and back to Kerbin

+40 For vertical takeoff from or landing on Kerbin

+20 per every Kerbal which landed on at least one moon x 27 = 540

-300 if you needed refueling mission - ran out of fuel in a 15x15 Munar orbit on the return to Kerbin.

+5 for every ton left on moon's surface over 3 tons on surface, max 20 tons (Multipliers: x0.1 - Gilly, Minmus; x0.25 - Mun; x0.5 - Ike, Pol, Bop; x1 - Vall; x2 - Tylo and Laythe) - Not sure how you're calculating this, but seeing as my ship Dry weighs in at around 68t..

Gilly (20*5)*0.1 = +10; Minmus (same as Gilly) = +10; Mun = +25; Ike = +50

Fat boy bonus multiplier = +95

Level 1 Total would be: 477.15

Craft file should anyone wish to try it for themselves. Needs better chutes too... Stock (but has MJ unit on it somewhere...) https://www.dropbox.com/s/ohjfmaacew0yci3/Mooner%20IIa.craft?dl=0

Foxster: Good job! You have successfully done Take me to the Moons on Level 2! Because you are only who completed Lvl 2 right now, you are also leader of scoreboard! I believe you had enough DeltaV with that huge tank. Level 2 bonus is not necessary, because each level has it's own scoreboard and it is impossible to compare different levels. Now you can place Level 1 or Level 2 badge in sig, regarding on which looks better for you.

FlipNascar: Nice try anyway! Tons left on surface counts if you for example left base there (eg. Hitchhiker Module), fuel for existing base or something.

To everybody: I have mistaken what is vertical and horizontal (stupid me), so +40 bonus is for horizontal takeoff, sorry guys... I will also make score start at 1000, because sub-zero score don't look very well. If you had for example -110 pts with old scoring, now you have 890 pts.

I've completed level 3. I set off in one large craft from Kerbin SOI and landed on every moon in the system.

My score

1000 is starting score (added because sub-zero score looks dull) +1000

-0.1 for every ton on launchpad (or runway) -320

+125 if you started as one piece on launchpad (or runway)

+100 for absolutely no debris left anywhere

+50 for bringing science lab (Mobile Processing Lab or something bigger from mod) with you and back to Kerbin

+40 For horizontal takeoff from or landing on Kerbin (100 for both, including already mentioned +40 bonus)

+25 for no jets on Laythe (Level 3 exclusive)

+20 per every Kerbal which landed on at least one moon +20

-300 if you needed refueling mission

+5 for every ton of payload left on surface of moon (max 20 tons) (Multipliers: x0.1 - Gilly, Minmus; x0.25 - Mun; x0.5 - Ike, Pol, Bop; x1 - Vall; x2 - Tylo and Laythe)

+20 Bop or Pol (max 40 pts) +40

+50 Vall +50

+200 Laythe +200

+250 Tylo =250

+150 Eeloo

I don't know my score as I haven't added up the lifters for all the parts, it's a LOT of tonnage... Assembled mass in orbit is 320.707T

I'll just be happy to complete the challenge. EDIT : I would guess (using a 10% lifter efficiency) that my pad weight was 3200T which would make my final score 1240

Wow, AWESOME challenge! And (at least) the 3rd level is harder then the JOOL-5! Cool!

based on the JOOL-5/Eve Rocks challenge I suggest one important thing: if you want this to live long then no point systems for the main levels because when there are some entries with close to maximum then most of the people will not want to be an other 'runner up' so there will be less/no entries anymore. This seems like a big and hard mission even for level 1 so this can be a big achievement on its own similarly as JOOL-5 and Eve Rocks. You can introduce sub-points, badges or something similar for some nice solution or big achievements but don't make the points to be the alpha and the omega.

Cheers, and I've become excited about this challenge so I might give it a shot if I'll have time!

I am sorry to say that, but rule 7 says that I don't accept Grand Tours and Jool-5 entries. I want people to do it for this challenge, not realizing in half of another challenge that they can do my at the same time. I am now thinking about whether to change that rule or not.

Am I allowed to do the inverse? As in, do Level 3 of this challenge normally, but also submit the Joolian system moon landing as part of the Jool-5 challenge?

I am sorry for being inactive for so long time.

John FX: Congratulations, you have completed challenge on... Level 3? Great! You are half way to Grand Tour! I will add you to first page and believe you in terms of mass.

Commissioner Tadpole: Yes, I don't have problem with it! Rule is set, because somebody (althrough it's very unlikely) could already do Jool-5 plus some other landings, which weren't planned. After month he would just came and say: Hey, I have done it accidentaly, give me my badge. See?

NOTE: Landing bonuses apply only over level requirement! If you for example miss Tylo, but land on rest of Joolians (+ L1 requirements), you get level 2 and bonus for Laythe. Got it?
