Dixi
So I want to build bigger ship. And I got a problem with parts connection. I can not connect one part to another in two or three points.See a picture. Points 1,2,3 are connected, while 4 is not. I've checked forums and did google search but found only explanation that ship are stored in tree form, so it's hard to do multiply connections. But I really do not understand how to connect heavy and bulky objects only in one point and have all structure stable and firm same time.Any advice? Red Iron Crown
Hi Dixi, welcome to the forums!Unfortunately, loop structures are not fully supported in KSP. The best way to get that last point connected is to use a strut to connect the adjacent parts. Some trickery can be done with multiple docking ports, but it's much more finicky to get working and usually makes a less structurally sound assembly than using struts. Multiple docking ports are better for things assembled in orbit when one port isn't rigid enough.
Yasmy
<Deleted because Red Iron Crown beat me to it.>Or you can use a mod like Kerbal Attachment System (KAS)
Dixi
So, if I do not want mods, the only way is to put shot struts to connect loose points. I'll try, thanks for info.
impyre
@Dixi: You're better off forgoing the second outrigger altogether honestly. The extra pieces won't make it any stronger, and by adding more joints you're actually *decreasing* stability. Just use the outriggers at the main attachment point (and use as few as you can get away with). Also, placing struts can be somewhat strategic. Try to place some above and below the main attachment point and parallel to the outrigger, also try to place some on diagonals to help dissipate torsional forces. Having too many is better than to few... once you get it strong, you can start experimenting to see what you can take away.
