"ArmyRage" - new fps game - Copyright infringement

Very recently a commercial game was released titled 'Army Rage' (www.armyrage.com)

The game\'s developers have stolen tons of assets such as models + textures of weapons and tanks. Also several gun sounds from Forgotten Hope 1 mod for Bf1942, Forgotten Hope 2 mod for Battlefield 2, things from the original Battlefield 1942 and Day of Defeat: Source.

This is copyright infringement.

Looks convincing.

Some I would have to digsagree with, there is only a finite number of ways you can model a certain car for example.

Still, many of the textures do appear to have simply been jigged around.

On the whole I think (from the evidence I was given) 'Army Rage' appears to be a total rip-off. Even the name sucks. I shall support the cause!

Some of it looksy iffy, as in maybe they didn\'t copy it

e.g. the sandbags

But the 3D image layouts (the tanks specifically) are pretty damning. Highly unlikely for 2 separate games and companies to create 3d layouts in the same exact manner and with the images being so very, very similar.

I\'d say the most convincing thing is the texture that still had the signature on it that was found in the army rage game files. There is no way that could ever happen.

Here is another thing.

This is the Forgotten Hope 2 LMG.

That is the Army Rage one.

They are EXACTLY the same other than they took the handle off and gave it a shiny texture.

I\'ll just say this. The fact that the UVW maps are identical matches in the tank textures.... yea... they stole that content.

Fh2 dev - Remdul has already made several attempts to contact Tuyasoft\'s developers but they are simply denying stealing content.

One thing, if they already can\'t really create models, why should they be able to write the code for this themselves?

It\'s entirely possible that they can make code, but not models.

Look at FreeSpace 2\'s Inferno Upgrade. They can churn out models like nobody\'s business but they can\'t be arsed to map half of them because they have very few UV artists / texturers.
