User Titles

So there are a few things in the forum that took me a while to figure out (mostly due to my inaptitude to correctly use the search function ^^) however I have figured out the mistery of rep and rep power and a few other things concerning BB-Code etc. One thing I still don't understnad though is how user titles work. I know it's possible to get a custom user title, and I know about going from curious george to bottle roketeer but where does it go from there. I noticed my title is rocketry enthusiast, but I did not change it since I assumed in some way it would show the dedication of the user to the forums, however I'd much appreciate knowing the exact workings behind it.

Your user title is based on post count (standard reminder: post spamming is against the rules). As far as I know, this list is still accurate, so you should become a Spacecraft Engineer with another 17 posts.

Just for curiosity's sake, if I wanted to get a custom title, how would I go about getting it? Just ask the Mods for one?

(I don't want one...yet...just asking for future reference)

You can edit it yourself in your profile settings.

Are certain users banned from having custom user titles? Mine seems to have gone away. Would be great if there were a public guideline for that.

Well, I had changed it to "Realistic Spacehippie" pretty recently but apparently I've been reset to default and my ability to change that went away. vOv

Yeah, probably best to ask him. I can't see anything that would restrict you in that way, and I'm not even sure if vBulletin would have such an oddly-specific feature.
