Does coffee works for you?

I wont drink coffee because of the taste and smell, but stuff like red bull has a very minimal effect, if any. I'm ADD, and frankly the stimulants and the dosage I use to manage that seem to make caffeine pretty much irrelevant. All evidence would point to my brain not being particularly responsive to stimulants and even eugeroics in the first place, sort of like how some people are resistant to pain medications (which I am not, mercifully).

Unfortunately I am also in that category. I generally have to take triple (or more) the dosage in order to feel any effect. Which is not good for my stomach with NSAIDs, and bad for my liver with HC or other opiates.

Don't drink coffee. Can't stand the smell. I haven't seen where caffeine from pop keeps me awake, though. I do drink pop on the weekends because I like it, but I'm very particular about what flavors I want to drink. We've still switched to caffeine-free at my house in case my young children are susceptible to it.

…Though I DO drink it at times on long car trips to stay awake, I doubt the caffeine itself is doing it, based on other observations; I think the act of picking up the bottle to drink breaks up the monotony of driving sufficiently, and that only works for so long before I need a legitimate break.

I'm more of a sugar guy than caffeine when it comes to immediate energy needs. Coffee I reserve for special occasions--i.e., KSP kept me up until 3:30 AM and I need to start my morning on 2.5 hours for a full day of work and parenting. I like tea more than either, but don't drink it for energy purposes, as it doesn't seem to have much of an effect.
