Losing my mind over a satellite contract

Recommended Posts

Based on the information he's provided, yes, he's going the right way.

His orbit has an inclination of about 15° and the requested orbit also has an inclination of 15°. Given that he's shadowing the requested orbit, if he were going the /wrong/ way around the orbit, either his orbit, or the contract orbit would be specifiying about 165° inclination, instead.

My recommendation in the above situation would be to either kick up to 5x time accel, or to quicksave and reload, and see if that unsticks the contract.

So, if I understand correctly, you can have all the numbers (not just Ap and Pe, but also inclination, longitude of the ascending node and argument of the periapsis) match and still go in the wrong direction?

No, what you've described isn't possible. If you're going in the wrong direction, the inclination will be off by 180 degrees if your AN/DN are on the correct axis.

Reeveli,

That's the most exact orbit match I've ever seen! O_O

Glad you got it sorted out,

Hence the title. This is my first time playing career and since I couldn't figure out what was wrong I was beginning to despair that I would have to make an even better match.

Yeah, props for the orbit matching. Most people couldn't even manage it with the information readouts :P. This is good to know, because i've never had to use timewarp and/or save/reload to get contracts to recognize completion.... it could've very well been me asking this very same question. Now I know.
