Yes, I totally agree! I was trying to make it easier via points, but I would prefer deliberation.

I also agree it would be helpful to the community as a whole if feedback were provided on how runners up could improve.

I was also thinking about an Oscar-B this year. (Upsilon sent me here) When I sent a PM to Upsilon about it (not knowing about this), he sent me to this thread saying you two were planning on making a new Oscar-B awards this year. He said he wasn't up to do it this year.

FireFaced is absolutely correct here. I feel as if I should elaborate a little:

Last year, I really didn't have the time to coordinate something massive like this, but I did it anyway. This year, there will probably be more entries and less free time for me to judge them. Instead of driving myself insane with this or having the results delayed by a long, long time, I decided to hand off the proverbial baton instead.

So, it would be nice if someone else kept this going. I would love @KasperVld to be the "manager" of the Oscar-B's: it would lend a real air of professionalism and it would increase the likelihood of being seen by others. I can completely understand if Kasper's unwilling or unable to do it, though; I also think @HatBat or @Felbourn would do a top-notch job.

~~~
So, thoughts? :)
Sounds good to me. A panel of judges would have to be gathered, though.
Wow, it's crazy how time flies. That reminds me I've only got until April to finish my film...  yeah, as much as I'd love to, I think it's for the best that I don't have a very active role in organising/judging. I'm in it to win it this year. I think the best course of action would be to have it hosted by @KasperVld / @Felbourn this year. Though as you might have guessed by how vocal I was regarding the judging process: I'd appreciate some sort of advisory position.
Things do indeed change quite a bit in a year. I'm busier than last time. Project Alexandria takes a long time to produce one episode now, and it's my only real series. Last time I had shows that were easier to make, thus leaving me extra time to contribute here. I'll consider hosting, but I can't guarantee it. I agree the ideal case would be to get additional officialization(TM) of the awards. That would make it worth the additional time investment.
Its nice to see this continuing. I would just like to say, anyone entering the competion should not judge in the categories im which they will be entered in. However, this may not work, because I assume the experienced players needed for judging will also want to submit work in their field. I don't know, just trying to make it as fair as possible.
That was sort of a rule last year. Judges cannot vote for themselves because they're themselves.
I know, but the problem is the people submiting high level content in a given category are also good choices for judges because of this, preventing someone experienced from both judging and submitting.
Again, they only can't vote for themselves, but can vote in the category
Oh, that makes sense.
Although then there needs to be enough judges that someone still has a chance if they aren't able vote for themselves.
It may be also be nice to have an award for mod creators
