Out of Curiosity: Is this why we have the Mohole?

My official explanation/theory-because-I-don't-remember: There's a slightly darker single row of pixels at the pole of Moho on the heightmap (aka, the top/bottommost rows of pixels on it), which causes a sudden drop in altitude at that point. You could make a Mo-Hoop around the pole instead by moving said darkened row down a ways.

It wasn't an intentional feature. Still, happy accidents and all that.

Yes, Eve has an mountain on the north pole who is very spectacular. as the pole point end in an knife edge down to the sea. Duna has an montain peek who is impressive but not so weird.

Curiosity struck me when i was watching Phils Crash Course on Mercury.

Were those Coldtraps the Intention to put the Moholes where they are right now or did they originate from a glitch in the Terrain-Mesh?

Would be great to get an answer to that :)

Cold traps aren't a unique feature to Mercury. The moon has them as well.

All you need for a cold trap is a crater at the poles of the body. Most atmosphere poor bodies should have these.

Well, you'd also need the body to have a non inclined axis of rotation, too. at least for it to harbor water ice.
