Vampereon
Everyone started talking about a second kerbal space center somewhere in the mountains, i have landed in the mountains where it\'s meant to be but the render distance is not big enough for it to render the KSC, please help!!! sal_vager
Hi Vamperion, I can\'t help you with your render distance, but if you try Tosh\'s cart mod you\'ll be able to drive up to the KSC and have a good look.
Vampereon
i tried that but the fact is that i simply cant take the slow speeds of the carts, the mountains are about 100 square km and the carts barely go 20m/s
Vampereon
btw by help i meant like a picture with a cross or something showing the exact location on map

vexx32
yeah, there\'s a second KSC. Northern mountains, I\'ve heard, from the main KSC.I\'ve tried getting there with my A-Wing, but I tend to run out of fuel too early. I guess I\'ll wait until 0.15 to start looking. Tarmenius
I\'ve been there a couple of times. The best way I\'ve found is to fly a spaceplane that glides well, set a sub-orbital trajectory ending in the basin and just coast the rest of the way. You\'d only need enough fuel for the initial ascent, which in my experience has been one-and-a-half tanks using the standard-size C7 fuselage (my spaceplane is four tanks long plus cockpit with a delta-wing configuration). Using a stock rocket would follow a similar path, only you\'d overshoot the landing site by a little bit to compensate for atmospheric drag then perform a powered landing. If you\'re at the right basin, it should be visible from the surrounding mountains. If your draw distance prevents a visual from the mountains, simply fly (or fall) toward the center and you should find it.Hope this helps.
Zephram Kerman
The second KSC happens to have a munolith at the site. So you can find it with the MuMech Muon Detector plugin. In this case, it works best attached to a spaceplane. Oh, and KSC-2 is not in the northern mountains. If you really want to know, I\'ll send a screenshot of the map location, but only by PM. I think the whole point of the thing is the challenge of finding it, so spoil carefully!
Vampereon
i have landed at the mountains where it\'s supposed to be using mechjeb, i first set it at a 75km orbit then i choose the landing trajectory for those mountains, i have landed it safely just that i have 25% fuel left in my pod\'s tanks and probably not enough to fly around the massive area but thanks for the idea of using the munolith detector

Vampereon
I know that it\'s real i just dont know where it is and once i get into the area (just about) the muon detectors dont find anything!

I never know that there is a second official KSC.Also, is there a method to replace the KSC to a other place?
Kryten
Use you a plugin? I never know that there is a second official KSC.It\'s an eater egg; it was added in the last update along with the monoliths by the devs. Also, is there a method to replace the KSC to a other place?Nope, sorry. sal_vager
There\'s no draw distance control, and you can see the second space center from quite far away, you just need to be in the right placeMore images here.Finding the Munoliths though, now that\'s hard. Candre
Man, all those pictures and then quotes of those pictures made this thread looong.I\'m starting to wonder whether it\'s feasible to create a mod that puts a ship at the second KSC on startup... Vampereon
there should be an option where to spawn for example to spawn in one or the other. the one up top would be good because i wanna land on the north polei did it before but its more fun being able to have enough fuel to get back
Cooly568
could i get the .craft?Sure thing, bobby!http://dl.dropbox.com/u/76940672/Kingdom%20Craft%203.rarYou need novapunch, All c7 packs, and the cart mod. I think that\'s all you need for this plane.Fly\'s like a dream.
