Alarm Clock!

I set my morning alarm to play Kenny Loggin's Danger Zone because if I snooze, I will be on the highway to the danger zone (snoozing past an exam)!

Aha, clever! I once set my alarm to James Brown's Get Up Offa That Thing, for reasons. Psh, like dancing would clear me of morning lethargy.

My regular alarm clock is just set to buzz. My iPhone is set to play Steppenwolf's "Born to be Wild" (Get your motor running...) as my backup alarm, which is also my "time to stop surfing and make my lunch and get ready for work" alarm when I'm already awake from the buzzer

Bad idea. You end up hating whatever you use as your alarm, for obvious reasons. I resorted to just use whatever was on the phone when I bought it, it's an awful "melody" of some sort. I hate that thing with a passion, but at least is not something I previously enjoyed.

I don't use an alarm ever, but if I absolutely have to I just press a little button on my digital block resting on my bedside nightstand and at 6:00 AM it'll just beep like mad. Desperate times call for desperate measures!

I'm usually awake before my phone goes off, and I immediately turn it off so as not to wake my wife. So it's not ruining the song for me.

Side note: Why do we say an alarm "goes off" when it starts sounding? Have you ever gone to bed late, knowing you have to get up early, and tell yourself "I gotta get up when my alarm goes off...." Sure enough, I wake up when the alarm turns itself off after an hour of buzzing. I had to change my mantra to "Gotta get up when the alarm starts buzzing..." That worked much better.
