Idea: Deployable/inflatable/procedural heat shields

I have an idea, (though if mods exist for the idea, cool), how about a deployble (or perhaps inflatable heatshield if that's realistic, I think I've heard something about NASA wanting to do a inflatable heat shield for Mars or something) heat shield which is stowed out of the way when you don't need it and is deployed when you do need it.

Like for example if you want a large heat shield, but it would otherwise get in the way, problem solved with deployable heat shields.

Also, how about procedural heat shields which can be custom sized to what you want (yeah yeah I know, tweakscale)

Deadly Re-entry has an inflatable heat shield, don't know what it's 1.0 plans are.

Not sure how to modulemanager them into 1.0 stock compatibility. Looks like the ADEPT one is being worked on though.
