Snarfster
Hello all,I am kind of stuck. Just downloaded the 1.0 version of KSP and installed it next to the beta version. The beta launcher (still) starts fine, the 1.0 launcher doesn't start. The exact error is "Unable to load mono library from /home/user/Games/KSP_linux/Launcher_Data/Mono (x86_64)"I tried updating the mono library, it is up to date.System is a fresh install with current NVIDIA drivers.Any ideas?(BTW, the game starts, it is the launcher which has the issues) Edited May 10, 2015 by Snarfster Solved in 1.0.
sal_vager
Hmm, KSP uses the Mono library built into Unity, not the one from the repos so updating that won't do a lot here, do you have both the x86 and x86_64 launchers or just one? Also please provide your system info.
Snarfster
Al right, I just checked the 32 bit launcher, that starts up fine. (For 0.90, both work)Systemspecs:OS: Linux 3.13 LinuxMint 17.1 64bitCPU: Intel® Core i7-2600K CPU @ 3.40GHz (8)RAM: 16025GPU: GeForce GTX 980/PCIe/SSE2 (4096MB)SM: 30 (OpenGL 4.5 [4.5.0 NVIDIA 346.59])RT Formats: ARGB32, Depth, ARGBHalf, RGB565, ARGB4444, ARGB1555, Default, DefaultHDR, ARGBFloat, RGFloat, RGHalf, RFloat, RHalf, R8Just tried all versions of .90, they run fine. It is only the 64 bit launcher that is included with 1.0 that seems to be the issue. Edited April 29, 2015 by Snarfster
sal_vager
Do you have a "KSP_linux/Launcher_Data/Mono (x86_64)" folder? I notice that mines missing.
Snarfster
No, I seem to be missing that one.
sal_vager
Hmm I would not be surprised if Squad ditched the x86_64 launcher, but if the regular one works I'd not worry too much.
Snarfster
Just curious which version of KSP the regular launcher will launch
sal_vager
Most likely the x86 version but you can just click the x86_64 anyway
JshWright
So what does the launcher do for you?Why bother including it if it's broken?
Snarfster
It wasn't broken in 0.90. Something went missing in 1.00.
GarrettKajmowicz
I'm running into this on Linux as well. The x86 launcher runs, but not the x86_64 launcher.Out of curiosity, does the "update" feature work for you with the x86 launcher? I'm not having any luck with that. Jovus
This is fixed in 1.0.2. (I had the same problem, but the KSP.x86 and KSP.x86_64 executables work fine if you just run them directly.)
Snarfster
Confirmed, the 64 bit launchers works again with 1.0.
Firefox101
I have the same problem but its KSP itself that's not launching.

Given this report is for an old version of KSP and its no-longer-supported launcher, you might want to post this as a new thread. Don't forget to include a link to your output.log file and any other relevant information.
