KSP 1.0 Cannot find my saved ships

Got a cool Mark I viper to share but I just now realized it's not in my SAVES directory! HELP

It could suggest a broken archive. If that's the case, there is no repair. But, try a broad search for the file across your entire memory storage. If it's truly not anywhere, I don't know what to tell you.

Oh it's somewhere. I can reload the program and the ship. I did what you have suggested already.

Really? Then what's the issue? Is the file just floating around somewhere and wont show up? If that's the case, you've got a broken archive.

I assume you know this already, but just in case: your ships are stored under <KSP folder>/saves/<save name>/Ships/<VAB or SPH>/. Which OS are you running on?

I should also mention here that ships are not typically shared between save games, so make sure you are in the correct saved game.

I found this thread via google when i had the same problem. I did "fix" the problem. If you create a saved game in one directory and then copy the entire install to another, the saved game will save the ships in the original directory. So for me, I made a save when it was in my steam folder I then copied the install to my ssd, however my save continued to save my ships to the steam install if that makes sense.
