I know that there are a couple of community projects going on right now, but I thought I'd add my own.

Post your craft (The name, a couple of pictures(In albums, if possible), a quick description(just something like: the RTV-A-2 Hiroc was the US's first attempt at a ICBM, the project itself was canceled, but not before 3 prototypes were launched.), and the DL)

If I like it (I only have this caveat for if a craft just looks nothing like what it's supposed to) I'll add it to the OP.

Remember, the more detail, the better!

Zucal's Falcon 9:

The Falcon 9, developed by SpaceX, is a rising star of the aerospace world as SpaceX attempts to use it to perfect reusability. Currently the Falcon 9 is used for the ISS commercial resupply missions (CRS) by NASA, as well as a variety of commercial satellite launches. In the future, it will be the launch vehicle for the Dragon v2.

The Aerobee was a 2-stage sounding rocket, designed to replace captured V-2s as a research rocket. Is was first launched in 1947, and last launched in 1985.

The Space Shuttle was one of the most unusual spaceship designs ever to have flown. It was developed as a low cost LEO transport, unfortunately it was too expensive to continue to fly, and the program was canceled in 2011.

Two Knives' Dream Chaser:

The Dream Chaser is a reusable crewed suborbital and orbital lifting-body spaceplane being developed by Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC) Space Systems. The Dream Chaser is designed to carry up to seven people to and from low Earth orbit. The vehicle would launch vertically on an Atlas V rocket and land horizontally automatically on conventional runways.

Im The One's Delta II:

The Delta family rockets is a set of expendable launch vehicles that have been launching since 1960, based off the Thor IRBM the USAF first ballistic missile ever fielded. They have 95% success rating. They though only have two branches of them still in service, the Delta II and the Delta IV with the delta II close to retirement. Currently holds the record with NASA for being the most used launcher with 84 attempts with only 7 failures.

The Mighty Saturn V rocket was the workhorse of NASA's apollo mission, as well as the rocket which launched Skylab. The Saturn V was active between 1963 and 1973. To date the Saturn V remains the only rocket proven to be able to transport manned missions beyond LEO. Plans to use the Saturn V rocket as part of the new Shuttle program were abandoned in favor of recoverable SRBs.

Important things to note:

- For the reentry, I had to turn on the "Ignore Max Temperature" cheat, but nothing else.

- Whenever done boarding with a kerbal, ALWAYS right click and control the craft from the probe.

- I had Kerbal Joint Reinforcement installed. Without it, it danced like it was the 1940s (The twist) !

- Quicksave often. The first time docking after the landing and re-orbit, Niel was flung off due to phantom forces, you know KSP.

The Delta IV Heavy, initially launched in 2004 it established the first operational payload known as the DSP-23 Satellite utilized for the National Reconnaissance Office. It has 1/5 of the thrust in comparison to the Saturn V Rocket and was primarily used for the Orion project. Costing over 375 million dollars, this historical rocket can lift over 30 tons of a payload. Lastly, it is prominently known as the WorldÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s Largest Rocket.

The Ares 1 Space Module. As a key component to the constellation program, it will be the replacement of the space shuttle, capable of lifting 24,500 Kilograms into LEO. This two stage rocket will be the foundation for the Ares V to send supplies to sustain human life on MARS. Towering over 94 meters tall, this rocket was named after Greek God Ares. Lockheed Martin proudly participate in the Lockheed Martin and looks toward a bright future in 2030.

Little Joe was a solid-fueled rocket used to test the heat shield and LES system for Project Mercury. A successor rocket, the Little Joe II was used for the same purposes in the Apollo program.

The Atlas-SM-65E was an iconic ICBM traveling over Mach 10 and capable of reaching orbit. Initially intended to be used for carrying a nuclear weapon, this program was discontinued after countless failures.

Thor-Able was the addition of an Able upper stage to a Thor rocket. It was used as both a sounding rocket and an orbital launch system. It made 16 launches with 6 failures, most of the failures were caused by an optional third stage. It can carry two small monopropellant tanks to a 70 km orbit.

Dimensions: 12.5 m tall, 1.7 m diameter, 11 tons, 18 parts.

Thor Agena was a U.S. orbital launch vehicle between 1959 and 1968 for small satellite launches. It made 145 launches, including the first Canadian Satellite. 1.125 Tons to 70km orbit.

Dimensions (Space plane): 7.6 m tall, Mk 2 fuselage, 15.7 tons, 37 parts in orbit, 69 parts on Launchpad.

A SpaceX rocket built to deliver medium payloads to LEO. Notable payloads include Dragon V1 and V2, and it has just been cleared for military and NASA research payloads. It's upper stage has de-orbit capability. The replica can take 18 tons to a 233 km orbit. Note that this is the non reusable version.

Dimensions: 39.9 m tall, 2.5 m diameter, 137.6 tons, 43 parts.

Mercury-Redstone was designed to be a balistic missile. It was then repurposed as an expandeble launch vehicle. It was used to launch Alan Shepard. On a 15 minute mission in his mercury capsule.

Naito's Space Shuttle:

The US Space Shuttle really needs no introduction. First launched on April 12th 1981, it served as the US's manned launch vehicle until its retirement in 2011. In that time it flew 135 flights, carried 833 astronauts into space, and launched some of humanity's most awe-inspiring scientific instruments, including the Hubble Space Telescope and the International Space Station. Despite its flaws and small number of tragic accidents, the Space Shuttle will surely be remembered as one of the most influential space vehicles of the early space age.

Naito's Shuttle-C Concept:

NASA examined a number of ways to extend the capability they had developed with the Shuttle. One of the most analyzed variations was to make a cargo-only version known as Shuttle-C. It was basically a Shuttle orbiter stripped down to only the propulsion system and the cargo bay. By removing the crew cabin, life support, and reusability capability, it was intended that this would allow reuse of Shuttle technology into a cheap to develop heavy-lift launcher. This idea came and went a number of times, and the final variation that got closest to being produced was the "Shuttle-Derived Heavy Lift Launch Vehicle" in 2009. Ultimately all Shuttle derived ideas were scrapped as the fleet was retired.

Naito's Shuttle Aft Cargo Carrier:

Another way that NASA sought to maximize the Shuttle's capabilities was with the Aft Cargo Carrier. This concept came about due to fact that since the external tank was essentially already carried up to orbit by the Shuttle every launch, why not actually bring a little extra up with it? This was briefly studied and proposed in the Shuttle's heyday pre-Challenger, but has been largely forgotten since then.

Falcon 1 was the first SpaceX launch vehicle to reach orbit. Although it was plagued by failures, it succeeded in carrying the RazakSat payload to orbit on flight 4. This file contains Falcon 9 Flight 4 with RazakSat.

SaturnianBlue's Delta 3:

The Delta 3 was initiated as a response to increasingly high payloads in the satellite market. Built to carry 3.8 metric tones to GTO, it contained a beefier kerosene tank, shorter than the Delta 2's but equaling in fuel amount. The SRB's were upgraded, and a Cryogenic Upperstage was built, unlike the Delta K Hypergolic fuel mixture 2nd stage on the Delta 2. The first launch in 1998 ended in failure 73 secs in the flight due to a faulty guidance system, and the RSO (Range Safety Officer) destroyed the rocket and the payload, Galaxy 10. The second launch put Orion 3 in a useless orbit due to a defect in the 2nd stage. The last launch in 2000 succeed in carrying a dummy payload to an specified orbit (though on the lower part of its margin. However, development on the Delta 4 led to its replacement.

Columbia's Delta IV Heavy:

The Delta IV Heavy is an expendable launcher currently in service. Ever since it's first launch in 2004, it has proved valuable for the space industry and has continued boosting classified and conventional payloads up to orbit.

One of it's most well-known launches is Orion EFT-1, where it sent a structurally similar dummy into space and back, proving it's capabilities and continuing to pave the way towards the SLS program.

SaturnianBlue's Delta II:

The Delta II 6925 was a rocket flown 14 times from 1989-1992 with no failures. This one features the "Straight Eight" Fairings (referring to the fact that the fairing is straight up the central core). It has 9 Castor 4A SRB's, the wordy Extra Extended Long Tank Thor with an RS-27, the Hypergolic Delta K, and a Solid fuel Star 48. The only launch with the Delta 6925-8 was with the HS-376 Palapa B2R, a reflight of Palapa 2, after the Star 48 kick motor failed after being released from the Space Shuttle in 1984. It was retrieved, refurbished, and then relaunched in 1990.

-This Replica, having been built in 1.0, may suffer from low Delta-V in 1.0.2, so adding fuel to the Central first stage is recommended, and note that the Star 48 and HS-376 kick motors are SRBs, so KER is recommended for Delta-V adjustments.

Flight instructions:

-SAS on, full throttle press space bar!

-At 300m/s turn east to 70degress or as close as possible

-stage the boosters and start a slow turn to 45 degrees when at 500m/s

-keep slowly turning as speed and altitude increases

-complete orbit with transfer stage

-shoot for Duna! on a collision course

-stage into cruise stage for trip to Duna

-adjust orbit for atmospheric entry to Duna at your chosen altitude

-Stage cruise stage and enter the atmosphere

-deploy chute and when open stage heatshield then the skycrane

-land on Duna! Yes, yes, I know that's easier said than done but there is plenty of fuel so take your time. You can hover, land then fire off the skycrane. As long as the rover is intact it doesn't matter. See video for example landing.

SaturnianBlue's Atlas-Centaur:

The Atlas-Centaur rockets flew from 1962-2004, flying 197 times with only 13 failures (and 3 partial ones). They flew many prolific missions, including Mariner 9&10, Pioneer 10,11, and Pioneer Venus, SOHO, and the Surveyor Moon Landers. This rocket features Ã‚Â½ staging, where booster engines slip off the side of the rocket while the core continues the ascent. On top is the 2 engine Centaurs used in the Atlas-Centaur era. RAINCRAFTER's Voyager:

The Voyager Probes were two identical probes both launched in 1977, with the mission objective being to study the outer planets some more. As of now, both are technically still running, even though both are shutting down many systems and activating their backup thrusters just to conserve the tiny bit of power left in those probes that mean that they can only communicate several times a week. Thankfully, we still have contact with them at all, and Voyager 1 is actually in interstellar space right now. It is actually the farthest man-made object from Earth, even farther than the dead Pioneer 10 probe, and even it's brother Voyager 2. But mind you, even Voyager 2 is amazingly far from all the rest of the manmade stuff that exists (and it's farther from us than Pioneer 10 too). These are truly wonderful probes that deserve to be remembered. (And a side note, the assent for this thing is pretty hard. Even though after that, it's cool; just know that. Also, taking control in the probe core on the launch stage is advised for that. Oh, and there is very little torque in the transit stage, but there is some. And it has a really small solar panel under the fairing, not none though.)

Does this allow aircraft as well? I have a few (Boeing) airliners sitting around, waiting for upload, although - as I said earlier - I wouldn't be able to access them currently. Or would that be for another thread?
