I remember a Flash game back in 2008 that was a lot like this. Obviously the concept has been fleshed out a lot more since then.

I've been trying to hack the JS for a while now but neither Chrome nor Firefox have been accepting my changes.

Did anyone figure out the mechanics behind merging back your cell after a split?

There's a cooldown. Once you are ready to merge the cells will just ease through each other, but you must do it with enough force for them to merge.

I came up with a team strategy. It would be cool to try it out some times. So here's how it works.

There are four types of cells:

Grazers

Hunters

Scouts

Queens

Queens (Mass = 300+ , Tag: [Q] )

The team would have one or two queens, depending on size. The queen would be storing 50~90% of the teams mass. Protecting this one is ESSENTIAL, and losing a queen is usually catastrophic. If the queen is over mass 300, and sees a cell that is capable of split killing it, then splitting and fleeing is a good idea.

Grazers (Mass = 32 - 100 , Tag: [G] )

The grazers would go out and collect mass for the queen, and regularly return it. The grazers' main way of collecting mass would be through the food pellet thingies, although hunting small cells (mass = 20 - 75) could work. Once they hit a mass of 100, the grazers are at a big risk of being killed, and move very slowly, so getting the mass to the queen before then is important. Splitting is a nono, but can be used to escape a predator if the grazer is mass = 75+

Hunters (Mass = 100 - 250 , Tag:[H] )

Hunters are also for the purpose of feeding the queen, but do it in a different way. They are tasked with killing medium sized enemy cells (75-200) to not only grow their own team, but reduce the size of others. Hunters should NOT let their mass exceed 300, or else they will have issues returning their haul to the queen. Split killing isn't recommended on prey less than 1/3 the hunter's current size. If the hunter does split kill, then returning the food to the queen immediately is recommended.

Scouts (Mass = 10 - 36 , Tag: )

Scouts are tasked with surveying the landscape, as well as baiting large prey ( 200+) to come to the queen. In order to stay fast, but still be an appealing bait, a scout should split whenever possible. If a scout is made up of more than 10 cells, then wait a little bit for the cells to fuse back together, then feed half the scout's mass to the queen and resplit.

The amount of team communication requires more than what Agar can offer. A Skype call or something similar would be needed. Each player should have the appropriate tag Before their name.

Neat team guide.

There's a cooldown. Once you are ready to merge the cells will just ease through each other, but you must do it with enough force for them to merge.

There's no requirement of force, they just have to be overlapping enough and it'll happen.

If you team up with somebody in Free-For-All, it's useful to note that once you've divided about 4 times (into 16 cells), you can't be split by viruses anymore, and eating viruses basically gives you free mass at this point. If you're big enough that nobody else can eat you, you can more or less dominate the board in this way.

If you have a teammate, you can also have them swallow your smaller split-cells in order to make yourself a less vulnerable single cell. Then they can re-feed you with W, and so on.
