Map View Windowed Mode

Recommended Posts

Sometimes it bugs me to switch views from Vessel- to Mapview, so i suggest a popup like window for map view with the option to make it fullscreen.

That would be a handy feature, so you would always have your craft visible and look on the map at the same time.

Is there a Mod for that!?

Kind of.

Raster Prop Monitor allows you to bring up the equivalent of the map view (flight/orbital) on the in-cockpit video screens. And the assorted flight data mods (Kerbal Flight Data, Kerbal Engineer Redux, Mechjeb, etc.) can provide numerical orbit data (apoapsis, inclination, time to apoapsis, etc) within the flight view.

The window-in-window idea is good for stock, though.

Yup, have RPM installed, do you mean that Scansat plugin or that "orbital map"... both ways, even with Kerbal Enigneer Redux makes it hard(impossible?) to see encounters and stuff...

Beside RPM is IVA only.

I like this idea. ..So far I've only been able to use mechjeb to help me out with periapsis, apoapsis, time to x.., etc, information on the main view. Not a perfect solution, but it helps.
