Lol i almost crashed into the tower, it is pretty fast now on descend...one can have a hard time controling it if your descend is too deep. great job, i like it.

Finally got to test out the new update. Also picked up some of the files throughout the last couple of pages (not sure if I was suppose to) and finally I was able to get the Shuttle into a stable and reasonable orbit without much trouble. It handled a lot better than before, not oscillating out of control or anything during ascent. Re-entry was also phenomenal with a smooth decent that went without issue. The aerodynamics are loads better than I remember them being on the .90 release and some of the first 1.0 adaptations. The only issue I found was that there were no RCS jets that came out of the nose section (I checked and made sure that those jets were activated and I had monopropellant). I used the one piece model if that helps. Other than that small issue, amazing work everyone.:D

im glad you like it. Jeast has done a great job with the aerodynamics, and we have more to come so hopefully it will be even better

Hi, I tested the CSS release with FAR, with the upgraded parts and without. I don't know if this is a known issue, in case sorry me, I didn't see anything about.

With FAR and the upgraded parts, the Space Shuttle it's almost controllable during the launch (not easily), but I noticed that the Flight windows of FAR did't saw the speed/mach of the shuttle. Things goes very wrong during reentry. There is no drag at all

So, you're not able to slow down enough to try to land, you continue to orbit as Kerbin were atmosphereless.

Btw congrats for this release, it seems to work much better than the old one (except for the drag).

Edit: I made test flight with other ships, and everything goes perfect, so it's not FAR or my install to be broken.

It is not yet compatible with FAR.

it shouldn't be too hard to get it working for it. I will compare some files and see if I can work out a formula.

you are more than welcome to put forward any ideas or work or fixes. have a play and modify to see what works and if its good we will put it on the shuttle. but Jeast is quite knowledgeable with he aero

If you think you can help, yes please. I'm sure some people here will be very happy when its FAR compatible. I have a lot of work to do on the IVA so all help is welcome :-)

Mike could you slap Jeasts last aero update in the OP? Ive got the feeling itll be way less unflyable in FAR, even without compatibility patch. :) And the guys coming here late dont have to pull through the whole thread.

Or Jeast: bundle up your Aeropatches into one, cause they apply to different parts, right?

So we have one latest release and one latest aero update and doesnt have to reassemble the main download that often.

OK I have bundled all recent updates into one file today. I have also included mini AVC so that you guys don't have to worry about all the files anymore. If there is an update, you get a popup in KSP with a download link to the new version.

Im not happy with the collision meshes unity gave me on some parts so I will be redoing them. Theyre ram intensive also. I got the working rcs cabin coming and the wheels. The brakes work great.

Also the one piece is coming... should be so easy to get the aerodynamics right. We will see.... it wont have those join lines like the origional and it wont split apart and use up lots of ram

You know, it does kind of beg the question of why it wasn't originally one piece from the start. I mean, the control surfaces and the docking adaptor make sense to keep separate (CS' because then it'll be easier to tweak them for users and the docking adaptor because anything to do with the cargo bay should be modular instead of fixed) but the orbiter itself is just odd to split up.

At this stage the engines, wheels and flaps are seperate and the cfg file has alot in it lol but it works. I havent rolled it out of the VAB yet. Top secret work at the kerbal area 51 hagar. Codename HaveWhite. Also a variant that will have a spacelab and some extra features

I will look into FAR settings and let you know what I find.

Not sure if this has been mentioned or anything before, but I think a cool addition would be the option to have the SILTS pod available for the vertical stabilizer in order to make Columbia more realistic looking. Another small little detail would be having a texture available for the vertical stabilizer where there are more of the black tiles, again to make Columbia more realistic. You can see both in this picture:

These two things are pretty nit-picky but I think they'd be a very cool thing to implement. But its just a suggestion

This picture shows something else interesting on the shuttle, the NASA logo on the back of the cargobay. I don't know if it's on the CSS and I can't check right now but it would be a cool little detail.
