display driver has stopped working and recovered windows

KSP Version 1.0.2 Windows [Not Steam]

Detailed explanation: Start game, go directly to training mission, begin proceeding through training mission steps.

Upon achieiving a orbit around Mun the game hangs and I get the following error message:

'display driver has stopped working and recovered windows'

Requires a complete restart of the game.

This is a fresh version on KSP 1.0.2 and my NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M driver is current.

Operating System:

Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

Processor: Intel® Core i7-2620M CPU @ 2.70GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.7GHz

Memory: 8192MB RAM

Available OS Memory: 8MB

Display Memory: 1696 MB

In this sort of situation, generally the best thing to do would be to try other driver versions -- either update to a driver in a beta branch, or roll back to an earlier version to see if the issue is only present with the current version of the driver. Other things to note might be to check whether you have any screen capture/recording programs open while KSP is running, as sometimes Unity is a bit iffy with those kinds of programs. :)
