temperature overlay not working

Recommended Posts

The only thing on a clean new KSP install that I know, would be to have assigned the F11 key to something other than the Temp. Overlay in Settings/Input/Game/UI (you may want to check and see what key is assigned there, and in case use any other of your liking).

But, as you are posting in the "modded installs" subsection, that may mean you also have some "unspoken" add-ons, one of them may be using the F11 key for something else? Or, one of them may be conflicting with those overlays?

Are you definitely using the latest version, 1.0.2 ? I don't think the keybindings were actually in 1.0.0

Try opening the debug menu (Alt+F12). Go to Physics, then thermal. There's an option there to turn on the temperature overlay. (Or at least there was...)

And you probably know this already but to use the function keys on windows, you may have to also press Fn, depending on your windows version and settings.

Aren't temp gauges f10?

The temperature gauges are F10, yes. (S)he said temperature overlay, which is F11.

Well, the other function keys work fine, so I can rule out the "Fn" thing. When I get home from work, I'll definitely check out those other things. Thanks.

BTW, and forgive me if this is not the correct area to ask, but I miss the feature where the temperature for a part would show up in the right-click menu. Any ideas if Squad has received any requests to put that back in?

That's a good point, I hadn't even considered that.
