KSP-gaming friendly food? (IRL)

I need something decently heavy and dense so I don't eat every 5 minutes. I also need something cheap, to allow me to increase duration of life support.

Thus my favorite 'in flight' snack is those ten packs of frozen hot dogs. Have you eaten 10 hot dogs in a row? Quite filling!

Tea, lots and lots of tea. I'm 1/2 British, 1/2 SriLankan (I represent both supply and demand), genetically pre-disposed to run on Tea! And it goes well with both KSP and coding.

I never eat and game though, sometimes it's good to take a pause! And on that note, I've just totally incapacitated myself with a mac&cheese (I think I put too much cheese in it!).

I recommend against anything with Parmesan cheese based on experience.

First I observed that sprinkling it too close to the computer results in cheese all over the keyboard.

So I put my hand in between to block it...

...and got cheese all over my chair.

Count me among those who don't eat too much while gaming. Usually it's just water, coffee, or beer, depending on the time of day. If I have to something, then a homemade burrito or something that's one-handed.

Cigarettes, accidentally.

I sometimes start chewing them during tense docking operations.

LOL, yes, I too have done this.

Food is for the weak, I run on coffee and smoke. Sometimes whiskey, but that leads to mishaps...

Sandwich. PBJ works great, other kinds you need to make sure you have something that doesn't fall apart or drip sauce all over your hands. And chips. But not Cheetos.

And if you're really worried, get one of those silicone keyboard covers.

I eat chocolate while playing. Hands, kb and mouse are clean and it takes no time at all to eat a piece, especially if you've broken it into the little pieces before.

Gaming and food is a dangerous mix. If you take your gaming seriously, you should be calorie counting and that means set meals, not pigging out while you do other things. Multitasking can be efficient, but you don't want efficiency in terms of damaging your health.

One of my few good genetic dice rolls makes me able to ignore all that. Whenever it's financially feasible I eat relatively huge amounts of food, paying no attention to it being healthy (so sweets, fruits, meat), do nothing all day and I'm still skinnier than a 1.25m launcher for 150t payloads (I wobble less, though).

Anything that doesn't leave a residue on your hands and fingers. I've eaten full regular meals while playing (set the plate next to the keyboard and eat with a fork).

Usually just end up drinking lots of water though, I'm not much of a snacker.
