It still works in 1.0.2.

I was about to rotate scientist crew in my Minmus research facility anyway, so here are some fresh pics.

So, it stacks. I don't think there's any limit.

Awesome. Are those stock parts you are using to connect your base modules? I have several mods, but none that involve base building and I am planning to set up my first Minmus base soon. The thought of dropping the modules precisely enough to dock radially makes my butt cheeks clench...

Yep, it's full stock. There are some daytime pics - http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/29533-What-did-you-do-in-KSP-today?p=1983310&viewfull=1#post1983310

Land docking is suffering indeed. That's why I assembled the facility in orbit and landed it in one piece.

I was thinking of landing a base framework with docking ports facing upwards and having a docking port on the bottom of the modules and setting them down on the base so they dock with it. Not sure if it will work, but finding out is half the fun!

It can work, it's just a bit more difficult than docking in orbit. I have a mining outpost with a docking port on top, where the freighter docks to pick up ore and fuel.

If you like that sort of thing, I think it helps improve your design and piloting skills.

Look at that again, and think about it...

1.1 < 1.4

LittleBlueGaming wasn't showing 1.159 is greater than 1.481 but instead showing the progression of the numbers. He could have used different symbols to help but the third number does make it pretty obvious of the intention.
