KTwitter is a plugin that allows sending tweets from your vessel. You can access to a simple interface and post a new tweet from manned missions. The hashtags, @... stuff and tweet messages are randomly chosen in the mod database. You also earn a little amount of caused donation and reputation once the tweet is posted. You can access to the last posted tweet (partially working).

KSP versions compatibility :

0.25 ✗ - 0.90 ? - 1.0 ✆- 1.0.1 ✆- 1.0.2 ✆- 1.0.3 ✆- 1.0.4 âœâ€

Planned features :

Features in green have been implemented in v1.1, and features in orange are currently WIP

  • Small pictures next to the tweet;
  • Save Settings options;
  • More RP features (favourite tweets);
  • EVA tweeting supported;
  • More accurate tweets;
  • Better language syntax in rare cases;
  • French language implementation

I have literally been looking at this and laughing so hard, I'm crying. I will never use this mod {probably, 'cause I hate the real twitter} But this is golden. I suspect that with some polish, this may very well become a popular mod.

This is something I've already thought to but since multiplayer is only available with mods, I think it's better to wait for a stable Squad multiplayer feature.

Not to be a buzz kill, but isn't this exactly the type of mod that should be in add-on development?

I made a thread in this section when the mod was in earlier dev. I don't know, but I'm working hard on that mod. I've partially revamped the UI and implemented new tweet-joined picture. The development is going pretty fast.

I have to say that this is a fun mod, although it needs more random flavor text, I used it during a mission in LKO and got a lot of repeat kweets. Also, do you think you could add the button to the toolbar instead of the floating button at the bottom of the screen?

By the way, Twitter is very particular about use of their logo, you might want to be careful:

Could you also have a streaming feature so my Kerbals can do livestreams from space stations in order to gain publicity? Like having a Human Space Program (I've always liked the idea of Kerbals having a game of us as a kerbal analog for KSP) competition onboard a mission to Duna, that could be done through a simple right click menu option called "Start Human Space Program Competition Livestream."

Hehehe, so did I. Then I thought this was based on my account and meant to help people replicate it from within the game, which wouldn't have worked at all. But now that I see the picture it makes more sense, and it's pretty neat. Not a mod for me, but the idea is cool

not sure if I'd ever use it (currently no twitter acc), but...

a way to take a screenshot which gets immediately added into a twitter-message could be fun.

similar thing, slightly off topic: taking several screenshots and get them into one imgur album, just through the ksp-game-ui could be fun too.

EDIT: okay, since it is no twitter-client-mod for ksp (why not? could be fun...), forget my ideas.

That's maybe a nice idea, but I won't create that stuff in this mod.

Maybe I'll create an other mod for that.

Thanks for the logo warning, I'll change that as soon as possible.

I'm looking into the KSP API for adding a toolbar button.

Of course, adding more tweets is something planned.

You know, I think it would be better as a rep thing. You see, sending out tweets will slightly increase your space program's rep. But also, you can see tweets from the public's view on your space program, and when you have a crash or kill a Kerbal, your rep goes down, but you start getting nasty tweets from the complaining public.

Feature request -- can you make it possible to relocate (or suppress entirely) the Feedback button on the load screen? I have another memory monitoring mod that spawns right underneath it, I'm trying to monitor memory usage during load for troubleshooting purposes, and in order to do so I have to uninstall this mod. :(
