Is Mimmus supposed to be in orbit of Kerbal

After my first sucesfull Munar interjection (landing not succeeded), I decided to launch a heavy duty rocket versus the object known as Mimmus.

But is this supposed to be in orbit of Kerbal

It is, also note, Kerbin, the planet, and Kerbol, the sun, have similar names, so it is important to type their names correctly, \'\'Kerbal\'\' is neither and could be percieved as both.

Yes it is, and is intended as a 'training ground' for interplanetary missions.

The process of flying from the Mun to the Minmus is basically the same as flying from Kerbin to another planet, but on a much smaller scale.

I am quite happy with the thought of Minmus being Kerbin\'s second satellite. Squad can just make another dwarf planet and keep Minmus right where it is.

Hardly. Mun and minimus both have tiny surface gravities and no atmosphere so that the delta V to lift off of them is small. To more accurately simulate a flight to another planet, try doing a double munar return with a single ship. That is Kerbin - Mun landing - Kerbin landing - Mun landing - Kerbin landing. This would give a better idea of the delta V it would take to say do a kermars return mission.

So far I have only been able to get to a crashland on the Mun on the second launch off kerbin, but I am getting there.

To the OP. Minimus is in orbit around kerbin as can be seen by its orbital path on the mpa view.

He meant the principle of moving from one orbiting body to another is the same. The actual transition is not the same.

BlueJayek, when Mars comes out, it will have an atmosphere... We can deploy parachutes in the upper atmosphere, build up resistance as we fall and then burn our engine. It will eliminate the need for a lot of Delta-v and will be extremely efficient.

Heh, funny you should mention that. I\'m currently trying to design such a thing (primarily and currently intended for Kerbin landings at higher speeds). Trying to learn a bit about plugins, and also figuring out which of my 3d packages I\'m comfortable with will output the best DAE files.
