The Galileo Mission - Realistic Pictures from Jool

Hey guys!

I recently attempted to launch a probe to research the full planetary system of Jool. Instead of sending 5 probes to their respective moons, I decided to send

one probe to make multiple flybys of the moons. (I was short on funds)

Here's the probe arriving at Jool.

Thr probe was designed to carry all the science instruments to record data, and had about 3000m/s of delta-v. It didn't have a heat shield so it had to perform a rocket

burn to enter orbit around Jool.

The flyby's were happening in order as shown below:

Laythe [First Flyby]

The first flyby was Laythe, but i lost the pictures by accident :(

I entered Laythe SOI at around 6km/s, and peaked at 8km/s, just barely scraping the atmosphere.

Laythe [second Flyby]

I lost pictures on the second flyby, but i was just barely inside Laythe's SOI, so i couldn't get high quality pictures.

The main objective of the second flyby was to achieve a gravity assist from Laythe to put me on course with Vall.

Laythe [Third Flyby]

The imaged from the third flyby of Laythe were lost as well. The third flyby helped to correct my inclination with respect to Vall.

Vall [First Flyby]

Finally, i had an encounter with Vall on the first flyby. I barely scraped the surface, avoiding tall mountains. Here are some shots i took while

in Vall SOI.

Vall [second Flyby]

I had another Flyby of Vall. The main objective of this flyby was to get a direct trajectory to Tylo using its gravity assist.

However, i had some sweet shots as well.

Tylo [First Flyby]

After an hour of planning ahead, i finally got to see Tylo. However, i didn't get anywhere close to its surface,

so i only had pixelated images. The gravity assist from Tylo swung me to the edge of Jool's SOI.

Tylo [second Flyby]

The second encounter was by chance, and a 1200m/s burn was performed to align me with Pol.

As i was out of fuel, the mission was over after Pol. Here are some chance pictures of Tylo on the second flyby.

Pol [First Flyby]

Out of fuel, the probe is unable to make huge corrections. But i was able to fly within 4km of the surface before bidding goodbye to the mission.

The probe is now dead after a fruitful mission.

Jool observations

Although the probe was constanly swinging by moons and avoiding space rocks, it was able to study the cloudy atmosphere of Jool.

These are nice! I'm not sure if I will or not, but would you mind if I used any of these in a video? I'm a fan of the style. :)

Sure!

Feel free to use any of the photos above.

Where is the engine? It looks like it was cheated.

Engine's on the back. I'll post a few more pictures tomorrow ;)

what mod did you use for taking Jools pics?

I actually screenshoted the planets and used photo editing tools to make it look realistic.
