I Adopted a Kitten!

Some neighbors a few blocks away found her hiding in a bush, covered in fleas and dirt. They took her in and cleaned her up, then asked around if anyone wanted her. Well, I guess we did! Her name is Hobbes, bonus points if you can guess why. :)

I probably won't be able to play KSP as much, but that's probably a good thing :P

Try driving down the road.. then reaching for the handbrake (park brake), which is between the seats - is cold hard plastic, is now warm and furry:confused:

My wife's cat which disliked cars, always climbed behind the driver seat and slept there, when I parked the car in the driveway.

I drove off not seeing the cat, and it.. panic-stricken, climbed onto of the handbrake and 'froze' there.

Nearly had an accident. Cat was female, name.. Pedro :D

Aaahw, what a cutie.

My cat died about a year ago :( I'm also thinking of adopting a new kitten somewhere this next few weeks. I'm currently looking for work, as soon as I got something less temporary, I'm taking in a kitten.

Nice p.u.s.s.y. cat. :)

You should apply an anthelmintic ASAP. They're cheap, something like 1-2 $/pill. Mash the appropriate quantity into powder, use few drops of water to make a paste and smear it under its lip to let it lick the chemical.

Also, flea spray and ampoules.

Visit to the vet for a general checkup is a good thing, at least to let it get accustomed to the procedure.

How do you know the cat's s.e.x (damn it, censorship)? It's easy to make a mistake with kittens.

aw, very cute! I see it tries to kill your arm like my cat does.....

My cutie was also rescued. Mother's friend found her, few days old at the time, in the bush. She was literally meowing for her life. When she was big enough, my family took her. She likes to kill my arms, although, on occasion, the verb "slay" is much more appropriate.

We rescued a cat in the middle of an intersection during a tropical storm here in Miami a few years ago. Tiny little thing. :D Decided to keep it after a few weeks.

It's still a rather small cat, but it's bigger now.

Take good care of it. :)

Where I live, cats are prone to being eaten by coyotes. The last thing I ever told my most recent cat was "don't get eaten" as I let her out one morning -- haven't seen her in a couple of years now. I grew up around here so it's no big deal, but my wife took it a bit hard.

With very few exceptions (2), all of my pets over the years have been rescues - including all 8 of my ferrets for example, and my last cat (who passed away last year and I miss dearly).

i have 3 cats. one i got a year and a half ago as a kitten. the other 2 were moms cats that i didnt get to raise from kittenhood, but they adopted me when they were a year or two old. now they are elderly and the older one has had several strokes (one a few days ago) and she probibly doesn't have a whole lot of lives left. she seems to be snapping back, she started eating and drinking again, but i dont know how much she will recover at this point.
