I saw Venus in the daytime today

Today, I saw Venus in daylight for the first time. It was very hard to notice, and I couldn't believe it when I stumbled across it while randomly scanning the sky. It was so dim compared to the blue sky that it took about 30 seconds to re-locate it after I looked away. I grabbed my camera and took this picture:

I thought it was very interesting to see a bright point in the sky in broad daylight, and Minmus actually flashed through my mind! (I may be playing too much KSP...) Have you ever seen Venus during the daytime, or even Jupiter or Saturn?

Only Venus is visible during the daytime. Sometimes not even Venus.

I've seen it during full daylight conditions. The sky needs to be very clear and you basically need some help with a nearby tree or a pole, and an optical device to establish the first position. To catch it with a naked eye, just like that, is extremely difficult.

Cool! I have never seen any of the planets unfortunately, but I know that even with a not very powerful telescope you can see Jupiter and its moons orbiting around it.

Both Jupiter and Venus are very easy to see, and Mars and Saturn should be pretty doable too. If you have not seen those, you simply looked in the wrong places :)

Sorry, I'm not sure why this isn't working.

This just sends me to the login page. I think you are trying to link to something internal to your account and that is not going to work. Just upload your image to Imgur, that will most likely be easier.

About once a month, the Moon and Venus are near each other in the sky. Sometimes that happens when Venus is too close to the Sun so you can't see it then, but whenever Venus is far enough from the Sun, you can use the Moon to figure out where it is.

I've done this to see Venus in the midday sky and it was very cool :)

Awesome! I haven't seen Venus nor any planets yet.

Have you ever looked up at the stars? Currently it is almost impossible to miss either Venus and Jupiter, as they are shining bright. Even in heavily light polluted areas, they should be clearly visible.

Hopefully this works, sorry for the trouble.

Yes!

He/she probably saw it, but didn't know they were planets.

Indeed, that is pretty much the only option. I have a rather clear view on both Jupiter and Venus from my kitchen, so I have become used to opening up the door and staring at them while my coffee is brewing. They are like little friends that say Hi every night. Sometimes the Moon drops in too.
