Trying not to vent. but this all still soooo buggy. over the past day ive experienced multiple glitches, with these 2 to point out.

So it starts off here at the first picture, im position like so and was attempting to couple the inner module/lander in the cargo bay to the grabbing unit on the larger ship, lower part of cargo bay.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/48pbvqvkt6lwhq4/2015-06-24_00003.jpg?dl=0

As I make contact with the rear of the inner module and the grabbing unit, the camera view kept going and did not stop for a few seconds. The screen was locked and left some HUD displays up while others are gone. I forget if I reloaded or had to force exit, but regardless I attempted again and got around the issue by using the grabber on the inner module/lander to grab the upper part of the cargo bay, and not use the other grabber at all. Odd because I had used the grabber on the large ship before in its same position to grab a stranded command pod for a mission with no issue.

Aferwards, I decided to use my space plane to transfer astronauts between the ground and who was on the station (docked with the two other ships as seen in other picture). Everything was going well till i hit 80km, when i was told I couldn't not time accelerate under acceleration, when I had engines off.

My vessel responded very oddly in this glitch. Even if engines were on and using fuel, the craft did not register any movement or change in Delta V. Ailerons would move and reaction wheels would be running, but no movement whatsoever. (Tho correct me if im wrong but I believe the solar system and its objects move around you and not the other way around. so everything was at a stand still?)

Oh yea and then my ship exploded killing the crew cabin members. Revert flight. Become very angry. Stopped playing and began typing this stupid thing up instead of playing.

and here's something from 1.02 a week ago that pretty much is what i feel like right now.

I see you have posted a lot of images, but we will need some details, for example a big one to know would be what version are you running and have you updated from one version to another or running from a full clean install? Also please check out our guide for posting support requests no how to provide more information that will be needed..

I updated my post with system info. I run the game off Steam and it has been updating it since i bought it. I started a new career in 1.01 because my old file got bugged out by the updates.

Re-downloaded the game after deleting the game folder.Even on a new save the game has all kinds of weird glitches. (Note: everything I report only started happening in 1.0.3/1.0.4)

Radially attached devices like solar panels or antennae now sometimes give an "cannot activate while stowed" error if you have a cargo or service bay anywhere else on your ship. If you have two or more that are symmetrically attached it's usually only one that gives the error.

The game sometimes doesn't let me warp, instead giving me the "cannot warp while under acceleration" message. Happens at 0% thrust and even when engines are off.

Antennas sometimes get stuck while sending science (won't fold up again). Stopping transmission won't work (still stuck) and once you go to the space center and back the antenna gets unstuck but the transmitted science is lost.

I now regulalrly manage to break stuff just by rotating my craft in space I for example had two Gigantor solar panels snap clean off by rotating my spacecraft.

Once when I tried to send some science back my whole service bay and all batteries exploded.

Stuff still sometimes randomly explodes. Temp is nominal for all of the flight then suddenly overheat markers appear on all parts of the craft and it explodes.Temperature overlay (F11) shows nothing unusual. Takes just two or three seconds from everything is fine and dandy to stuff goes boom.

There seems to be a glitch in reentry heating calculations. If you come in hot you'll sometimes explode the instant you hit the atmosphere (e.g. counter switches from 70,000 to 69,999 on Kerbin re-entry and boom). Doesn't matter how long you are in the atmosphere either, I had this happen once with an periapsis of about 69,600 meters over Kerbin (I was going 7 km/s but still hitting the atmosphere for less than 2 s should be survivable at that speed and atmospheric density). Game doesn't even have the time to show overheat markers as it only takes an 'instant' (less than one second) to happen.

There are all kinds of weird phantom forces that hit your craft once physics winds up (VAB or SPH to launch, tracking station to craft) or the physics context switches (e.g. from orbit to atmosphere). Switching from tracking station to a craft will make it "yank" around. Sometimes the force exerted is high enough to significantly change your orbit or to break stuff. I have a landed craft where the solar panels will fall of if I switch to it, just from the force the physics model exerts on it during "wind-up". I several times had a force that was so high and sudden that after "revert to launch" my whole craft including the launch clamps yanked sideways and ended up at an angle of 45°. Once a craft even broke apart while in orbital transit when I switched to it from the tracking station.

Right now the game is unplayable for me because I don't know what random physics glitch will kill my craft next. I don't even dare to switch to my orbital station because every time random stuff blows up or breaks off. 1.0.2 was fine by comparison.

I haven't built a new craft yet (only worked with ships created in 1.0.2) but it seems that all of the crafts built before 1.0.3 are borked. Somehow the game seems to be confused about which parts are attached to which other parts and then screws up the physics calculations. This seems to affect the new convection, conduction and shock heating models the most but all physics calculations are affected.

What seems to be the case is that most physics issues seem to come from 'instant' changes in force or flux vectors. THis looks to me like a calculation or rounding error in the models (value approaches 'infinity').

Squad really shouldn't have shipped such a huge change on a 'dot' update.

I feel you guys. It really is not that playable; somehow, someway, ill do something within 2-3 hours that will glitch out and ill just lose progress even though I don't play with mods. It is very disappointing. I would expect this from Beta or Alpha, which this game was in forever, but not in 1.03/4.

I have played 818 hours of this game since i bought it in Alpha.

So I validated my game cache, it found 2 files and did whatever with them, and then I was able to get above 80km and dock with my station at 250km. Did my crew transfer, refueled, undocked, did retro burn for reentry, and the same thing happened. "can not warp while under acceleration". having engines on did not change any speed on nav-ball HUD, in fact it stopped changing at all. And once again, 2 hours of my time wasted.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/3xgcwog878t8ag5/2015-06-24_00017.jpg?dl=0

before this happened i was able to get a picture of homebase without moving my station from the inside of the science module.

This game literately has so much potential but it is neck deep in bugs. I'm going to play fallout nv now.

having engines on did not change any speed

It happens once for me - ship just stuck in space. But velocity indicators shows me about ~750 m/s orbital speed around Mun. But controls didn't work, and ship didn't rotates or moves at all.

I'm having some of the same problems--while my UI doesn't glitch out, I am getting the "Cannot warp under acceleration" despite having RCS, SAS, and engine off. When this glitch begins, my navball also becomes unresponsive (changing the ship's attitude is not reflected on the ball). When I am able to warp (inconsistently), the ship still moves around as though it wasn't warped (typically warping freezes the ships orientation and position, right?); sometimes I can even still control ship movement under warp.

Windows 7x64, i5-4690, 8GB, ATI Radeon 4800, through steam. 1.0.3 and 1.0.4 Happens both on old save files and a brand new sandbox I started just to test this problem.

Upload your save files, and give us step-by-step instructions on how to replicate it. Also a copy of your output.log file, just play until it triggers, quit KSP, and upload it. You can use any upload service, like dropbox.

Save files are in your KSP/saves/xxxxx

Output log is in KSP/KSP_Data

Copy the save folder "Nigeth" to KSP/saves

Start the game

Resume saved

After the persistent save has been loaded hit "ESC"

Load the "quicksave"

You'll end up in orbit around Jool

Hit "." to time warp

You'll get the "cannot warp while under acceleration" message

I get the message every time I load that particular save.

I also included my output_log.txt

Stopped playing and began typing this stupid thing up instead of playing.

Same as you, except I definitely stopped playing this game for some time and I didn't write anything to report bugs (they seem so obvious, I suppose they're all well known, unless there are no QA tests and that would explain a lot).

I had the same problems countless times, among others. New problems and glitches every mission.

Trying to dodge bugs is not the game I want to play.

Holy crap if I have to restart my career AGAIN i'm going to flip out. I've put 818 hours into this game in total, already had to restart after 1.0 came out because of new glitches in old file; put in another 200 hours into that (moved my space station from kerbal to Jool AGAIN)

1st time - https://www.dropbox.com/s/kw9za3bi1hczmkk/2014-11-11_00001.jpg?dl=0 put it kerbin to Laythe

2nd time - https://www.dropbox.com/s/39el19t4xgwvoml/2015-06-22_00007.jpg?dl=0 kerbin to Jool because it seemed a better option.

I don't want to have to do it all over again a third time. I know i'm whining atm but oh my goll this game has eaten up so much of my life; and the time is not getting saved, but rather getting sucked into a black hole with no hope of ever seeing this universe again. I wish we knew exactly what is causing this "Cannot warp under acceleration" crap.

- - - Updated - - -

I was also getting a "cannot warp while under acceleration" message when i was below 1mill km of jool, but unlike my encounter with this in Kerbin orbit, I was able to "alt>" time accelerate through it AND survive the "glitch" encounter. In Kerbin orbit, as you can see from my picture in first post, my ship eventually exploded. very weird.

Okay so I decided to give it another go and not only did I encounter the same problem, but the same problem would happen if i time accelerated while docked with my station now. Everything would start moving around violently. I scanned the output log, and though I have zero knowledge of code, I did see "nullreferenceexception" in there. Can anyone have a look and confirm? Why does it do this? How can you prevent this from happening? Please let me know when I can throw my controller at the wall :)

Just go to quick save and attempt to time accelerate.

This is what I found in my output log at the time of quicksaving, undocking my spaceship at the station, engaging RCS, and pulling away from the station. Everything around my ship was getting thrown around like a rag-doll but not breaking, after trying to time accelerate away from the station. Why does this happen? I don't want to start a new game just to do the same thing again that breaks the game. Does it have something to do with the docking ports?

Below is a copy of a section of my output log. I also see this bug here (http://bugs.kerbalspaceprogram.com/issues/2349) that seems to have some of the same traits as the problems I'm having, such as everything else getting torn apart.

NullReferenceException.... and it keeps on going something like that. I reloaded my quick save a few times to soak it all in..

Just go to quick save and attempt to time accelerate.

output log https://www.dropbox.com/s/kay6r5ocnb3ohs8/output_log.txt?dl=0

persistent save https://www.dropbox.com/s/n09fmnup907fbxx/persistent.sfs?dl=0

quicksave (to get directly to ship) https://www.dropbox.com/s/y0gx99pld7zx41u/quicksave.sfs?dl=0

If anything else is needed please let me know

Ok, I had a look, using both your persistent and quicksave.sfs. Tested on a clean KSP 1.0.4 (build 861). In my tests, I could "fly" that Space Station (SS2), timewarp and return to normal time without adverse effects, but only when SS2 is the first object flown in game. Going back to it, even if only through the Space Center, makes the station to start a spontaneous disassembly if timewarping. That is certainly in relation with the NullReferenceException (shown in your output_log, but also in mine)

"...

at (wrapper managed-to-native) UnityEngine.Transform:INTERNAL_CALL_TransformDirection (UnityEngine.Transform,UnityEngine.Vector3&)

...

at Vessel.GoOnRails () [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0

..."

which means when that station is being packed for timewarp, the parts coordinates have to be frozen but something is missing that is needed to get the correct orientation on one or more of those parts.

What I see is the station begins to disassemble with parts freely floating away, as if they lost the attachment relation with their parent part.

Now, checking the output_log, can see before a disassembly, there is another specific NullReferenceException when going from the SS2 to the Space Center:

"at (wrapper managed-to-native) UnityEngine.Transform:INTERNAL_CALL_InverseTransfo rmDirection (UnityEngine.Transform,UnityEngine.Vector3&)

...

at Part.OnDestroy () [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0"

Ok, that tells nothing of what part is it about, but sure a part was destroyed and its joints terminated when the SS2 was left. Why that happens is not clear, however I have one observation here: if I wait long enough to let everything to settle (so that accelerations among parts due to the physics with off-rails vessels are very small) I can successfully get back to the SS2, timewarp and back without problems. The issue arises when I don't wait and the physics still fight to position those parts.

Believe that may suggest you what to do (wait longer, let the station physics settle before making it on-rails again). The cause may be from the very thin connections (just a docking port in most cases) and the size of that station, that means even minimal errors in alignment of the parts may bring to forces greater then required to break the joints.

What a very knowledgeable and helpful response diomedea, I can tell you know your ..... I will try and do as you suggest and give the station more time to "settle" before leaving it or time accelerating. I hope Claw sees this! Maybe it could help with the frozen orbits bug
