1.0 and Beyond... Where are the clouds?

i still want those damn clouds... and a relooking for the sky/the horizon. Isn't the fact that it is white bugging anyone else ?

Oh yeah. That's one of the worst aspects of the game imo. That white horizon is infuriatingly ugly and I curse to myself every time I notice it.

Seriously. The sky box is disappointingly ugly too. Its like a kindergarten wall paper.

Well, it's almost the same as with the second gas giant.

Since 0.90 we are scope complete (well nonetheless resources were added in 1.0)

and adding clouds would require a significant input of money and manpower.

Therefore I don't expect them anymore.

Trading features for performance doesn't sound like "polished and complete 1.0 game" to me.

Seriously, where are the clouds ? And more importantly, when are we getting a proper sky ? Right now the horizon is just plain white, unrealistic and crazy ugly. I understand this game is not supposed to be pretty but that sky... urgh.

You can see the darn clouds in the VAB and SPH, they are everywhere in the game trailers, and yet no clouds and a terrible-looking sky ingame !

And yes clouds do affect gameplay, especially if you are landing spaceplanes from orbit and need to figure out the landing spot... Anyway when i arrive at a planet and i look at it i'm always disappointed by how ugly it is without clouds

I don't understand how the game is 1.0 , porting to PS4(rofl) and getting a multiplayer while it has crazy memory leaks, a skybox from 0.7.3 and not a single cloud.

Agreed with all your points. It's incredible how much better the game would look with a better skybox and horizon.

Also, saying graphics isn't as important as gameplay is a minecraft-level* statement and makes no sense when mods such as cloud packs and Scatterer exist and are very popular.

*Minecraft-level as in it's a commonly used counterargument in minecraft's community when someone says that minecraft's graphics are terrible (true), but isn't logical because of the existence of incredibly popular shaders and texture packs.

There's a simpler explanation : SQUAD can only do so much in a given time.

There like a dozen features or corrections that we are waiting for before clouds.

to name a few of mines :

- dV reader (supposed to get done through Engineer)

- Contract overhaul into something that don't give you random mission that are pointless or stupid 90% of the times. (testing parts encourage you to never test them, satellite have barely any importance since Antenna don't have range, survey make you go place you already went, tourist are asking the damnest things and you can't plan multipart missions over contract...etc...etc)

- R&D Tech-tree not being built to make choice as inconsequential and grindy as possible.

- Administration building having any kind of balance whatsoever in the career, and a true periodic budget wouldn't hurt either, in fact it would allow real contract penalty.

And we waited for those before 1.0.

So, cloud it's all well and nice, I want them too, but it can wait.

My hope is that SQUAD have been holding back in prevision of U5, but I wouldn't bet on it.

For me everyone of these mods are working...of course i need to switch to OpenGL mode.

But since i switched to OpenGL i never had any OOM-Erros. Actually i have about 20 mods installed, module patcher says something about 800+ modules loaded.
