Freedom to move is a facade. There are many reasons people stay in a country or state they dislike, family, economic reasons, cultural reasons, education, etc. Just because you can up and leave doesn't mean it is economically, mentally or emotionally feasible.

And if not, why not?

Well, there's legal issues involving child custody. There's the fact that I already have a job here, and don't have a job lined up somewhere else. It's a job that I don't particularly dislike. There's legal issues with relocating to another country. There's financial issues. It would take a hell of a lot more money than I have at this point to uproot and move to another country. I doubt I could convince my wife to move that far away from her family. And so on.

But no, you're absolutely right. It's all about freedom.

Did you guys know that the US liberated the Philippines on July 4th, 1946. So two countries celebrate holidays on July 4th.

Rwanda also has its independence day on July 1st along with Canada and its liberation day on July 4th. So July 4th is celebrated mainly in three countries!
