Hi everyone :),

Just wondering if someone can point me in the direction of a mod of some sort to help me get around in space instead of this stock method, I find it really really difficult to get just right and accurate when it gets too clustered and is often far too sensitive when repositioning around, thanks:

I'll second the use of PreciseNode - I use it my own self. Key thing about it is that the minimal amount you can adjust a node by is .01 m/s of delta-V; depending on the target, that can still cause wild fluctuations in the final altitude of an Apoapsis/Periapsis/whatever. I hear that it works best when you've got another mod capable of making those kinds of precise maneuvers automatically - and the only one of those I know about is Mechjeb.

Why .01? You can always type the digit and achieve any precision you want (within double floating point and string->double conversion error)

Of course there is another matter of executing...

Ya, I only use sub-tenth accuracy for trip viability planning. Any actual manuvers to that accuracy are always finished with RCS and no manuver node.

What I mean by trip viability planning is a succession of nodes. Like a LKO -> Mun flyby -> Minmus orbit I use for crew training. I set the first node for a prograde flyby of the Mun with a Pe at 40-80 km at a Pe arrival within 6 mins of the Mun > Minmus transfer window. The second node is a retrograde burn at the hyperbolic, Mun Pe to establish plane agnostic intercept orbit. The third node is a normal burn after Munar escape for Minmus intercept. A tenth of a dV can loose me the encounter while tuning this flight plan, but when finalized, it can tolerate near half a m/s inaccuracy before correction.

PreciseNode++

Being able to precisely edit the node values and adjust conics settings is great and all, but the absolute best feature is being able to adjust node values when you can't see the node itself. Get the planned trajectory close to where you want it the usual way, then zoom right in on your target and do your fine-tuning from whatever angle makes the most sense.

A picture is worth a thousand words, so here is an image of me adjusting a correction node just outside Kerbin's SoI to refine a Jool encounter for gravity assisted capture:

Edit to add: Check out the TWR in the pic (ignore the dV readings, I had made KER glitch). Such nodes can be completed manually with reasonable accuracy using a single LV-N with the thrust limiter dialed way down. It is also useful to do your node adjustments with timewarp on, eliminates orbital wobble.
