How to distinguish kerbals disciplines?

Is there a way to find out which discipline (scientist, engineer, pilot) a kerbal has, outside of the pilot center? Do they have some indicators on their cloth?

I often have the problem to transport a couple of kerbals in a hitchhiker module or similar to orbit, but then when it comes to EVA, I no longer know who

is a scientist ect.

I currently have to write down their names and their disciplines.

Switch to the map view. There's a little tab on the right hand side with an image of a Kerbal on that; click on it and it'll show you which Kerbals are on the craft as well as their discipline and level.

Check out DMagic's Portrait Stats. Then at least you can see their profession while still inside.

This. If you have a large craft (such as a space station) with multiple command pods, the UI conveniently identifies which kerbals are in which pods.

Also, the same UI works for individual kerbals on EVA.

I'd love to have different colored space suits / clothing or badges for those little guys to distinguish them just by looking at them in IVA or EVA.

But this will do for now.

I've seen some mods that will give Kerbals different colors of spacesuits...I don't use any my own self but if you've got a box with the juice to handle it you might try TextureReplacer and see what that does for you.

I've now installed "J's Legendary Suitpack". Love it. ^^
