Is KSP ready for Window 10?

Yes, nearly everything compatible with Windows 8 will be compatible with Windows 10 and even run better. Windows 8 was very well done in performance terms, and Windows 10 seems to have taken it even further plus adding a user interface people actually like.

Your biggest concerns for windows 10 are not software, but drivers, and even then they shouldn't be a very big concern. Printers are often most likely to break if they have functions beyond printing (All in ones) but even then there shouldn't be many of them that do. Most of your common devices with either have universal drivers updated (gaming mice and keyboards, video cards, etc) or be built into the OS.

TL;DR: Don't worry about existing stuff. Very little will break. Though I wouldn't buy any new hardware for a month.

I just hope it comes with drivers that support openGL on KSP, as opposed to my Windows8 OEM.

As above, windows isn't your problem with OGL.

OT: W10 will work just as well with KSP as any other version, if not better. I've been impressed with the performance so far.

I actually heard that advice about avoiding new hardware first being spoken back when 7 was introduced, and it seemed like it should have been suggested with Vista's inception and DX 10 coming about. Nvidia and AMD/ATI do seem to be on the slow side for drivers for new OS's, at least as far as their new hardware is concerned. Makes me wonder if they get a fair look at the new OS and DirectX before both are publicly released.

That's up to your video card manufacturer, not Windows 8. Windows 8 supports OpenGL.

Like a friend at work says: "I'm sorry for the shame I've been put through" ;)

Doesn't translate well to English, unfortunately. It's hilarious when he says it.
