[1.0.4] Supersonic Aerospatiale-BAC Concorde Replica (Mk3-sized)

Recommended Posts

One of my most ambitious aircraft designs to date, this ship is a replica of the real-life Concorde, a famed Supersonic (faster than sound) airliner that was the only one of it's kind. It was decommissioned from service and retired in 2003 after an Air France Concorde crashed at Gonnesse, France.

Thank you for viewing, and leave some rep or a comment if you liked the ship! :D

Nice looking plane!

Your second screenshot showed some wing buckling at the segment joints just above the intakes. I've run into this with my larger planes and the only cure I found was placing strut connectors at the buckling points. Apart from that, everything looks good on my end.

Impressive speed for the mass and size of the plane. Well done! :)

EDIT: Looks like you already did that on your build screen, so I'll just shut up and give you kudos.

It's very beautiful!

But some kind of a visible cockpit would be very nice :-)

Was going to say the same thing as Azimech. You have the shape down but now I suggest trying to get the finer details down.

Thank you! I felt that using an actual cockpit with windows and all that would ruin the shape, so I decided to stick to the blank nose, but I will find a way. Somehow.

Thanks, GDJ! I think I still need a bit of work on the joints - Too little strut connecting, and the wings would bend far too much (and possibly break), too much and it may increase part count to an unplayable. I'll try my best to revise it, though.

Glad someone could make one out of the mk3 parts! I stuck to the mk2 for my replica because I couldn't get the mk3 look/fly/feel right.

Thank you, Westi! Yes, attempting to get an Mk3-Sized plane to go supersonic was probably the most troubling part that I had when building it. I myself am surprised that it went beyond the sound barrier. :D
