MMORTS games

apparently no one has really got it completely right yet. what we need as far as I can see is: a big map. galaxies even. with larger player size, comes larger map. moving bases. with insane fuel costs.

Yep. Nobody has done it right yet, currently only terrible mobile games are out there that claim to be that.

The only RTS games I've played are Age of Empires II/Mythology and a bunch of Command & Conquer games, and all I can think of when I hear MMORTS is "My god, the lag would be horrendous". 8-player games in AoM/CnC already take forever, imagine a game with 100+ players.

? I never got to actually play it, but always was interested in how good is it, being an MMORTS and all.

Also Shores of Hazeron. Even if it's first person, it's still the most massive MMORTS I've ever seen, with fully cutsomizable spaceships in which you can walk, and fully customizable buildings in which you also can walk.

EVE Online. I heard there's a strategy part to it - though I am not rich enough to play it myself. Probably not really what you want, but at least the demo was fun.

also Novus AEtreno looks good.
