Looking for a decent rocket/booster/tank mod (other than KW/NP/AIES)

OK, I'm sort of at the point where I think I'll give up on KW, NP and AIES. I know the guys in charge of them are busy. I know that others have put together patches that fix some of the problems. But I'm looking for something up-to-date on 1.04 as un-problematic as possible.

Any suggestions?

Stock. Despite the lack of decent in-between engines, it's less problematic than mods (probably!)
