Note:

the 2-stage R-7 turned out to be aerodynamically unstable. Use prograde autopilot in the lower atmosphere and don't deflect from the prograde marker more than few degrees.

Also ensure that you are pointing exactly prograde when dropping the first stage.

The 3 satellites launched on the 2-stage R-7 rocket (slightly modified ICBM):

Sputnik-1 (PS-1) - the first artificial satellite

Sputnik-2 (PS-2) - carried the first animal in space (Laika)

Sputnik-3 (Object D) - was initially planned as the first satellite, but it took some more time to assemble all the scientific equipment and get enough payload capacity from the rocket

May I ask what parts/mod you used to create the 4x clusters of main rocket motors in the 1st stage?

He used Mk-55 Thud Liquid Fuel Engine.
