Please revise the stock fuel ducts.

Please revise the stock fuel ducts.

I suggest that Squad makes the endpoints different colors for better visibility on very short connections, and add a Boolean editor menu option, "Bi-Directional Transfer" which if enabled, allows fuel to flow in either direction, thus saving on part count by not having to add more fuel ducts in going in the opposite direction, and increasing overall performance due to the lowered part count.

I like the idea about endpoints being different colors.

Dunno about bi-directional transfer. Seems easy enough to put another fuel line just the other way around. I did that on spaceplanes before jets drained fuel from all of the vessel's tanks.

And lo it came to pass, in the most Kerbal of fashions...

  • The endpoints of the vaunted fuel ducts shall be tinted opposing/contrasting colors that are colorblind-friendly.
  • The fuel ducts shall have 3 modes: Normal, Inverse, Crossfeed.
  • The fuel duct endpoint colors shall reflect the internal flow state of the fuel duct.
  • So say we all.

Bi-directional would cause problems, no?

Can cause problems, doesn't always. Which is enough of a reason to me to oppose this, unless they can change something so that it doesn't cause problems.

The rest of the suggestion is good to me.
