Memory

Recommended Posts

I'm having problem with repeated CTDs as I am testing and so reverting to VAB very often, since there is the long standing scene change memory leak bug I was wondering how to increase my ability to run for longer without CTD. I already use OpenGL, ATM and have turned of temperature gauges.

To run longer you need to use less memory. Try going through the parts and delete any that you don't think you'll ever use. If you haven't already installed it, use Active Texture Managment mod. It'll reduce your RAM useage. You can also try running in OpenGL but it'll probably slow your frame rate.

Till they fix it, there's no way to escape it. All you can do is find ways to be able to play longer. Just curious though, how many launch/reverts are you doing? I do a LOT and haven't had a CTD from it yet.

.

5 - 10 reverts per session. I mentioned I had OpenGL and ATM.By parts do you mean mods or KSP parts? I already monitor my Gamedata folder heavily.

Both. You can use Auto Pruner to automatically rename parts so they won't be loaded. I use Procedural parts (and B9 Procedural wings, and Procedural Fairings) so I can remove all the (circular cross section) fuel tanks, structural parts, probe cores, all the fairings, and all the wings, etc.
