Editor Broken. PLZ HELP!

Recommended Posts

So I have been playing ksp for quite some time , and haven't installed a mod yet.

Recently , though when I open up the editor, All the parts are missing and there are no tools.

Apparently though, I can load up any ship even though it says that it contains locked or invalid parts. Game play is fine.

Does anybody know what I can do to fix it? Please hurry, I would like to get back to playing KSP soon.;.;

Info

I'm using Ksp 1.04

Ksp doesn't crash, just the editor goes haywire and ksp doesn't create a folder, so sorry about that.

Specs, although I doubt this has soemthing to with it

^^This

Have you touched anything within the GameData folder or within your KSP folder ?

Does this occur everytime you start KSP ?

If you really can't find a solution the best thing to do is to do a clean install of KSP:

- backup your save files (KSP_win > saves) (if you're in Windows) and your setting.cfg if you want

- delete your KSP folder

- download a new copy of the game from the website

- extract the .zip file

- paste your saves and other backed up files

This should solve your problem, but that won't give you its cause.

If you got your KSP from Steam, backup your saves, delete local content and reinstall KSP (I think)

I think what my fellow kerbonauts meant was that it's helpful for us if you can provide a bit more info (such as what is outlined in the sticky linked above). It's sometimes hard to guess what might be causing your issue if we don't have enough info, such as where you get KSP from (i.e. Steam or the store, as Gaarst states).

Something that often helps us get to the bottom of this quickly is if you can post the log file. Where to find that and places to post are in the link above.

Also, if you haven't already, try restarting the game or even your entire computer.

Welcome to the forums! :D

Cheers,

~Claw

If this is only affecting your old saves you need to edit your persistent.sfs

Find this line.

TechTreeUrl = GameData/ModuleManager.TechTree

Change it to this line.

TechTreeUrl = GameData/Squad/Resources/TechTree.cfg

Save your persistent.sfs, and play KSP.
