Etymology of Minmus

Anyone here have an origin worth posting?

I think it was supposed to be Mini-Mun (miniature Mun) but either the devs thought it was too unoriginal or made a typo and it ended up as Mini-Mus

Which was then shortened to Minmus to point out unobservant people allowing others to make fun of them.

I reckon Minmus sounds like Mimas. Therefore, Minmus is probably the moon of a gas giant that had enough momentum to escape into solar orbit, and got captured by Kerbin.

Well, the word minimus means smallest of a series. Since Minmus would almost have to be the smallest visible object in the Kerbol system, and if we contract the i a little bit, obviously, it\'s about a female cartoon mouse.

I\'m no good at Etymology, but if I had to guess how the name came about I\'d say someone said Min for a laugh, wasn\'t it NovaSilisko who came up with the name Mun?

Though how you\'d get from Min to Minmus I don\'t know, so I\'m most certainly incorrect.
