Vessel.getDeltaV() always returns 0

I've grabbed the Active Vessel from FlightGlobals and am getting correct mass and position values back, but getDeltaV() is always returning 0.

I'm also noticing it's not on the community wiki. Is this function just bogus?

If so I can just calculate dV with wet/dry mass, but I'd also need the ISP of the engine/s. How would I go about traversing the vessel parts and figure out which is an engine?

Yeah, that function is unimplemented. Squad was originally going to include delta-V readouts with 1.0, but it got delayed.

If you want to calculate delta-V yourself, I'd suggest reading through the Kerbal Engineer source code, here.

The important stuff for deltaV calculation is in the VesselSimulator code though I'd advise wrapping your head around a stiff drink before trying to wrap it around that code...

What's the reason it's so complex?

Because computing the delta V is complex. You need to know which fuels tank provides fuel to which engines, how long each one will procide that fuel, when you think the player want to stage, the mass before and after each stage, ...

If it was a simple d = F / m it would have been stock for a while.
