Kasper and Ted are in the stream right now, and are just waiting for the $10,000 donation goal to fall to drop some juicy info about KSP version 1.1! Just $200 to go, come on everyone, don't miss it! (And donate some!)

Hype hpye :)

First reveal: a 0.625m basic jet engine (41 kn @ mach 1.7) by Porkjet, complete with intake and structural engine body. Great for really small planes, or learjets.

More coming up...

(I assume we're going to see all of this on Squadcast later today as well, by the way.)

RoninPawn is teasing about talking 64bit.

Update: $10,500 donation goal for another new part.

Also, debugging on the new Unity 5 64bit editor has been declared a priority internally, and as far as it looks right now, it is an incredible improvement over any of the tools they had before. (This is not an announcement of a 64bit version release, but it is an announcement that they think it's a realistic near-term goal.)

Currently talking performance improvements: "nothing that'll make a 700 part monster lag-free, but there are some good improvements"

Will there be a report for people with bad internet who can't watch twitch streams?

Well, I'm summarizing the important points, and I'm pretty sure we'll see most if not all of this later this weekend during Squadcast and an (already promised) devblog post.

You have to have a twitter account to enter for giveaways. Typical.

That's because they already have had multiple people who won but couldn't be contacted because they weren't hanging around in twitch chat at the time. They want to make sure the winner can be contacted.

Are they playing the alpha for 1.1? Or just messing around with 1.0.4?

They are not playing 1.1. This is a 3-day community charity event, not a Squad event. Squad just decided to offer something nice as a donation goal.

Oh, geez. New jet is fine, but why is it a small one? We need BIG jets and BIG SABREs so that we don't need to stack 20 engines on an SSTO....

Also we need BIG SRBs that can work for heavy lift launch vehicles.

I don't think they are finished yet. You might see more, but having a smaller jet could be fun for making UAVs.

BTW where are the people to complain it's not an official channel and they should post it here before?
There's already been an announcement on these very forums that the event would take place on Twitch; where have you been? Nice attempt to derail the thread...

Parts are looking pretty cool so far.
