Rear landing gear angle, any way to make it straight.

Messing around with a plane for the first time, I know this is probably a duh question but its got me stumped.

The rear landing gear.. it wont let me mount it to the wings.. only the fuselage.. so the only way it will mount is angled out at like a 45 degree angle, it works but looks completely retarded.

Am I missing something?

Turn off angle snap.

(But FWIW, stock gear are more than useless. Use Adjustable Landing Gear mod)

I place them where I want then use the rotation and offest gizmos (press 3 and 2, respectively) to get them perfect.

Stock gear is perfectly fine.

Use the rotation gizmo to rotate the gear. make sure to leave angle snap on for this.

When attaching gear to wings, just turn off angle snap. You can use the offset tool to finetune the gear placement.

When you place gear, focus on keeping it orthogonal to two axis. Use rotation (in snap mode) and translation tools to position it after initial placement. This avoids any camber and tracking issues.

also, when you use rotation, press 'F' to toggle between absolute and relative rotation.

If you use absolute rotation, then you can use angle-snap to snap it to be perfectly vertical.

It should be letting you mount it on wings, if what you mean by "wings" are not control surfaces. But yeah, everything posted above will fix your problem.
