Dear god, that man has a rocket!

I have been messing about with KSP for a few weeks now. So far a great deal of fuel, construction materials, and Kerbals have been sacrificed on the alter of science and exploration. In order to achieve my goals (move a moon to destroy a planet) I have decided to focus my efforts a bit more, seek advise, and join the wider community.

Well, in stock KSP, the bodies (planets) are on rails. So you can't move them, unfortunately. And planets can't really be destroyed, their terrain is indestructible.

However, I believe there are mods that give both N-Body physics, so you can move planets (and all the planets move you/each other), and there's a WIP that gives cratering.

Welcome to the forums! I do believe Scott Manley has made a video about moving Gilly with rockets, and in stock it could be done, if you could move planets.

Pretty sure you're talking about this one:

Long story short: yes, if the planets/moon where not on rails in theory you could move them. However it would take aeons if it would not grind your PC to a halt long before that.

Yes, that is what I am talking about.

With the N-body mod, a spacecraft that has an integrated ungodly powerful galactic supernova thruster and control source and everything else in one part that has extremely high impact tolerance, you might be able to do it. But the thing I'm not so sure of is whether or not the N-body mod actually changes planet positions using collisions with the spacecrafts and if it would actually move if you thrusted hard enough. So, a bit of a challenge for anyone who can do it, using any mod that you want, created by you or not, test the movability of planets using the prototype build of Principia N-body mod.
