Classic Aero Option

Recommended Posts

Just as classic career is an option, why not make the classic aero model an option? I know this has been argued to death, but I'm suggesting a compromise: make the current 1.0 aero model the default, and put an option for the classic 0.90 aero model in the options menu.

Using the debug option will return some of the previous aero drag (emphasis on "some"), but the old wing lift calculations will not return. Also, I doubt anyone's done any testing on if that button even works right. In other words, it's not guaranteed to turn off all the new aero drag and turn on all the old aero drag.

Cheers,

Question still remains: Why would you? It's like going back to twigs and leaves after the invention of toilet paper.
Why? It was a very inaccurate placeholder...

real rockets and ksp rockets are built differently. real rockets aren't a cartoony stack of small tanks on that drain from top to bottom top of an engine that makes up half the dry mass with a skirt of fixed winglets around the bottom in a futile bid for control. Therefore ksp rockets don't always mesh well with realish aerodynamics. that being said giving players parts that let them build more like real rockets (separate lf and ox tanks, lighter engines, earlier control surfaces, may be some changes to how fuel flow works just to be safe) can mitigate these problems and help cut down on the drive to return to the old and familiar.
