How can I have the original crew 100% of the time?

Don\'t kill them, I guess.

Even if I make a bunker out of wings, they\'ll manage to explode and die anyway. I have a habit of landing my returning rockets (especially those I forget to put chutes on) right on top of my safely landed capsules and planes.

I actually taxied a squadron of my best planes into a small area, just behind the VAB, and managed to crash into the middle of them on my very next rocket launch.

If you make them eligible for respawn, the crew auto-assigner will assign the first set of crew that is available for your next flight. If no existing Kerbals are available, a new set of random ones will be created.

Kerbals are eligible to respawn based on how much time has elapsed since they died. The ToD parameter is the time at which that dead kerbal will respawn again. If it\'s lower than the UT value, that means he\'ll respawn next time a crew is picked.

Alternatively, you can tweak the state value. States are:

0: Available

1: Assigned (to an ongoing flight)

2: Dead

3: Respawning (will become available again when UT reaches ToD)

Just be careful poking around with those values. Weird things might happen.

Cheers

God I love weird things.

Thanks, Harv. Unless there are objections from the left field, this thread could be locked at this point... as my main question has been answered in full.

With my flying style?

Can\'t speak for that, but if you don\'t mind editing your persistent.sfs file, go to whichever vessel you want the three to be in. There\'ll be the info about the craft\'s location, its orbit, and then its parts. In the mk1pod section, there are three lines,

crew = x
crew = y
crew = z

Make these say

crew = 0
crew = 1
crew = 2

And you should be good!
